Software Upgrade Thread

At 02:00 Server Time on Tuesday, June 5, the software will be inaccessible for a scheduled upgrade to the new client.

Merge Gaming estimates roughly 6 hours of downtime while these changes are made.

Good Luck

Hopefully Merge will have watched and learned something from the Revolution launch debacle and will be better prepared than the competition to handle whatever problems arise from the upgrade.

They could really knock it out of the park if they keep their eyes on the ball.

Yea Lock claims they were responsible for writing the Merge upgrade.

We just need RPMSeth and RPMJon to flip the doomicorn software switch .. it is right next to the doomswitch, but works on a system wide basis.

see this link to regs thread for all the info ..

I don't care who wrote it as long as Merge and the skin reps address any problems/glitches people may have with it and don't leave us hanging if any do occur.

For one it makes it easier to sort through sngs by stakes I believe. I am excited because the current lobby was not that great. The new look should be really good. Well look forward to the update in the morning.

For real time information about the network status, you can follow @MergeGaming on twitter.

6.0 Maintenance has been extended again for a further 10 minutes. Apologies again for the delay

But every ten minutes they tweet this, so who really knows.

As a programmer, I quote what all programmers say, it will be up when it is up. Beyond that you will find it a bit choppy I will guess and a series of updates will release shortly after the initial release.

Testing is tough and simulating real world is very tough and my guess beyond the budget of merge. Improvements come with pain, what you hope is the new release doesn't fail in the long run.

As a non-programmer, I just hope it doesnt suck.

Agree with both programmers as a web developer, and this is especially true with the complexity of the network as well.

Can't wait until they flip the switch. Looks as though the login screen comes up, but mine just resolves after I type in my info to login.

Everything looks to be in the process of coming back around, hopefully it won't be too much longer.

If you're still having trouble, we recommend this help video:

Spoiler:
For optimal performance, please do not spread peanut butter on the internet vent. Also, this is a joke. The update is still in progress and the downtime is affecting everybody. We hope things will be up shortly.

This is pretty uncool i must say. There are a lot of ppl who set their daily sched around grinding certain mtts, and considering the amount of rake we pay, we deserve to get better updates. The site was supposed to be back up 4 hours ago and they are still just tweeting "10 more mins" which is pretty absurd.

Unfortunately there can always been unforeseen issues when it comes to programming, as the programmers above have mentioned. Merge Gaming is working as we speak to get their software up as quickly as possible. @MergeGaming on twitter will update you in real time as to when you may reconnect.

Thank you RPMSeth for working diligently on updates and answering questions.

I do have 2 questions if you have the time.

1.)Are the payouts for the June promotions (Monday-Thursday) always credited the following Saturday and if so what time are they credited. -300 VIP per 1000 hands etc-

2.)Will HEM2 and PT's Hud work with the new software update? Has it been tested in a beta build?

1) Generally yes, that's the latest point at which they will be credited.

2) I couldn't answer this question with certainty, it's best suited for representatives from PT and HEM. I would recommend contacting them directly.
