Not sure if serious or leveling but I wouldn't feel too comfortable with any substantial amount on any U.S. facing network.

Why tell him that? It's the truth, don't have any money online you can't afford to lose if the site were to get shut down, its a very real possibility its just that simple

i basically want to hear something from a merge rep. and i see people get results when they make threads on 2p2. im not looking for a random persons best guesstimation.
12-04-2012 , 10:39 PM
do you really think a merge rep would ever post here that your money is not safe??? lol

This. I mean come on OP. Obviously you're not smart because you have a huge percentage of your liferoll online with the current state of online poker but you should at least be smart enough to understand that no Merge rep, or any rep for that matter, would say your money is not safe.

+1000

In case you didn't notice, no "merge" rep has ever responded in any thread on 2p2.

RPM Poker is on the Merge Cashier. Merge segregates player funds. Were RPM to shut down operations, Merge would move your balance, at your request, to another operator.

Insofar as safety from the DOJ, it's all speculation, but I believe these sites to be much more safe than PS/FTP/UB/AP were simply due to the fact that the industry has learned what not to do in regards to being caught/seized.

Kahn,

Comparing PS to Merge is just laughable, the other three sites, sure, but PS has done so much for the community that putting them in the same breath is just a terrible idea.

As for OP, having a large percentage of your life on any site that isn't FDIC insured isn't very smart. Use your head.
12-05-2012 , 12:14 PM
LOL at being a huge douche and expecting a Merge rep to answer you. At least Kahn(con) replied. Surprisingly enough, he had nothing but good things to say about Merge.

OP, if you have a significant portion of your life roll on ANY US site then you should accept that you could possibly be f***ed at any moment and lose money that is important to you. You're probably going to respond with "FU, I want a Merge rep" or "Ok, douche" or some other classy comment, but you need to use your brain. Withdrawal as much money as you can off the site and leave enough for 10-15 buy ins for w/e game you play. If you need to put more money on, then do so. I would rather hassle with making multiple deposits then losing "a good portion of my life roll". Take it as you will........

If something happens and you f*ck yourself please refrain from making threads about it and or commenting on threads about it.

In this day and age you have to protect yourself....

thaaanks!

You wanted an answer and he gave you the most logical one. Don't know why you have to be clown about it. If you wanted to know from a Merge rep, why don't you PM them? Their response will be the same.

That would make as much sense as not leaving a "high %" of your life roll on a shady card room. OP obviously lacks common sense, and manners.

It is probably safe. I have to agree with others posted. It is never a good idea to leave more money on a site in post DOJ days than the absolute minimum that you need to play your stakes.
12-06-2012 , 07:39 PM
The fact that OP can ask a question like this and even have a bankroll is amazing. Obv not the sharpest in the drawer of knives lol.
12-08-2012 , 06:35 AM
so is his money safe.......

you don't expect a rep to come in and say ' not really ' or something do you, they will tell you yes obv

If the day comes that RPM shuts down I will be upset...then you may cross my mind OP. Then at that moment I will smile.
12-09-2012 , 03:25 PM
your money is never safe, but I think if RPM shutdown the money would move to another skin and be fine.....I think the biggest enemy would be the US government locking it up, but I dont see merge stealing any money anytime soon....asking reps for these sites is silly - they dont know anything and they're not operating in the best interest of the players - they just want to keep their job.

i got my money back from NETeller when it got seized

i got my money back from all sites that left the U.S. after the UIGEA passed

i got my money back from PokerStars when it got seized

i have never not received a requested cashout in full in over ten years of playing online poker

i expect to get the cash in my Full Tilt account eventually (FTPs are another question)

all that said, over the years, people have had money on sites and in e-wallets and never got their money back after getting shut down or whatever. however, it is more likely that my situation will reflect yours

your money is not safe imo. the sheer fact that the DOJ can swoop in and seize any site and its money that still allows U.S. players at any given moment strikes me as not safe. whether Merge segregates properly is irrelevant b/c the truth is nobody really knows or can prove it is true and even then it's still possible you never get your money anyway in some Black Friday scenario

i would get as much money off the site as possible as soon as possible and only maintain a minimum roll for your stakes or an amount that you are comfortable with possibly never seeing again tomorrow

if people haven't learned from UIGEA in 2006 or Black Friday in 2011, then they're doomed to repeat the same fate they suffered in those events

if i can remix the words of the man named **** you from Glengarry Glen Ross...ABP. always be prepared, lest you want to end up like the dude's first name
