rpm support mess-up (resolved) rpm support mess-up (resolved)

We have good news to share - albeit incredibly embarrassing - but when a mistake is made, we must swallow our pride and correct it.

Before that, though, I'd like to make a point of saying that this was an honest mistake by RPM Jon in live chat and not an angle shot like some have claimed. We have nothing to gain by intentionally confusing a player taking advantage of the RPM Poker promotions; the promotions are there in hopes that they are enjoyed. In the future, all challenge opt-in confirmations will contain a set end date so there is no confusion. We genuinely do our best to make sure we are as accommodating as possible when it comes to mistakes or more difficult support inquiries, and that is the reason we offer extended support to the 2+2 community via these forums.

That said, we made a larger mistake here in calculating whether or not the requirements of this challenge were fulfilled in the 30 day timeframe, regardless of whether or not the challenge finished at the close of March 13th or 14th, and in this isolated incident it was entirely human error. This has left us both shaking our heads in disbelief at how this mistake occurred, and also highly embarrassed that this case has reached this scenario.

The OP's account has been credited with the $200, a $109 ticket, an extra $109 ticket, and 2 extra $11 tickets for the inconvenience of this entire situation and he has been contacted directly. We sincerely, sincerely apologize for this error and can be quite sure that this will not happen again.

We hope this will bring this matter to a satisfactory close, and again, please let me reiterate our absolute sincere apologies.

Glad you have learned from this RPM.

I know you get a lot of inquiries from customers all insisting they are correct even when they are saying the most ridiculous things. But you do sometimes have to learn to distinguish the valid complaints from the trash.

Even without the bit about the counting being done wrong, players need to rely on support when they say something. The previous idea of maintaining the integrity of the promo was pretty frightening. But I'm glad the correct decision was made in the end and that you are committed to learning from your errors in hoe this was handled.

Well I'm glad this has reached what I perceive to be the correct resolution.

I am no longer appalled by this situation and am impressed at RPM admitting and making right by their mistake.

Thank you Seth.
I accept your apology.
*Applause* for doing the right thing. You are one of the reasons that I play at RPM.

only impressive thing is that op had to come here and complain in public before the damn obvious right thing was done.

Looks like the only reason for the change of stance is that the users here called them out on their customer service.

I don’t disagree at all that had OP not brought it to the forums that RPM would not have done the right thing and rectified the situation in his favor, especially given the tone of RPM’s initial responses itt, which I was appalled by.

The fact that they did eventually see the light, admit their mistake and do the right thing - albeit because of pressure pointing to the absurdity of their initial stance - almost seems like a novelty in today’s climate.

I guess I’m just jaded/used to online poker sights being called out in the forums for screwing a player(s) and then doing the wrong thing anyways out of spite, arrogance, angle shooting for free money, etc. or whatever.

As a concerned observer, I was/am happy with the result for OP and RPM. That is all.

Nonsense...how can one argue he's responsible for not knowing if they're not responsible for not knowing, as obviously they didn't.

Are ya'all even implying that they are not responsible for anything they say? Wow. Quite frankly, why should he be expected to "count 30 days" on a calendar if they're not expected to. I'm sure most questions asked on a support avenue are considered silly by a majority of people, most certainly by "experts" paid to deal with them constantly & correctly. But why have it if its not accountable anyway?

They owe him the money, cut and dried. He asked for clarification of the rules, got it and then told our bad, our money, so sorry. Its really no different than asking how the a first deposit works, getting an answer, depositing and then being told "the rep was mistaken, actually you owe us more money as its really that we subtract $5 from your balance for every $37.50 you rake for us...will that be cash, credit or check?"

Btw, I don't know but if that deposit bonus question was asked here on this forum wouldn't it be a 50/50 chance the same person he dealt with would be the one to answer it?

+1...Good to see a site honor its word, hopefully that's the norm here and wish other sites/skins would seek to follow the example.

Congrats on your accomplishment/achievement OP
