oh ok thanks. Glad they are going to do so ;D

I suspect that RPM has little control over the actual client since all the other skins look essentially the same, just different colors. Still, I'll throw in some suggestions in hopes it makes it's way to Merge.

These are all based on using the Normal table mode.

*Fix your fonts. I looked through the fonts in the installed directory and they are all common ones that should be on any machine. However, the way the letters on all the tabs and tables are blurred or pixelated seems like a TT font that in not installed on the system is being used. Another source may be that the font used does not scale down well. If you make the windows almost full-screen, the text is clear and sharp. This is usually a sign of a font that doesn't support smaller sizes or a development language (cough *java* *flash* cough) that doesn't scale fonts well. Anyway. I have pretty much perfect vision and my head hurts as looking at this screen for a while. If the choice of fonts can't be done, I would at least like to have a setting to use a larger font-size on the table.

*Labels/Icons - When an icon/label is assigned to a player, either make it larger on the table or give us an option like PS and other programs before that to outline the player with the label color for easy reference. Right now, the icons are so small and on top of the players avatar that you cannot make it out. So bigger label icons, ability to select our own icons, the ability to just use a color, or all 3.

*Notes - Convert this file to XML or another human readable format.

*Action Indicator - Mostly already mentioned, but I did just notice that in Normal view, in addition to the "action" text below the player's name that there is a highlight around the entire player icon. Never noticed that before. Still, make this flash and it will be so much easier to see. Also, it would clean up the interface if the action "window" below the player name was eliminated and instead the action text was just flashed in place of the player name as done on other sites.

*Tables are too cramped (full ring) - I find it very hard to quickly look and see who has the button and often who just placed a bet is unclear to me. This may clear up as I get more used to the layout, but just pushing all the player icons out further to the edge of the table would open this up a lot.

*Rake indicator - Move it to the top of the table or off to the side or anywhere except where is is now. 1. At the lower levels, the button is the same color as the chips, so a quick glance is hard to identify position. 2. It sits too close to the left most (player 0?) player's bet position, so it often looks like he has made a bet.

*Action buttons/Pre-select boxes - I don't really mind all the buttons as others have indicated, but keep them in the same spot. The pre-action box sits nicely at the bottom edge of the screen, then the action buttons jump right up under the bottom of the table. HUD positioning issue mostly.

*Filter/Sort - Would be nice to have a option to filter by a specific stake. Also would be great if we could sort on more than one column and that preference was remembered between sessions.

*Auto Buy-in settings - If I set my default buy-in amount, I should just be seated with that amount when I select a seat instead of having to go through another dialog. Or at least have an option to do so.

That seem like a lot of gripes, but overall I like the software. It just needs a little tweaking here and there to make is easier to use.

Hu super turbos with a similar structure to full tilt. Being able to filter for specific stakes instead of high, medium, and low would be great.

A few suggestions after an hour of play.

FLASHING BANNERS - I'm going batty with the flashing "Click here now!" banner at the bottom of each table. Poker requires a lot of concentration. There's a good reason that FTP and Stars didn't have things like that to distract players during long sessions that they're barely able to get through without distractions.

CHECK OR FOLD - Is there a reason that folding is even an option when I can just check? Why not remove the fold option when I can just check?

SEAT - Is it possible to have my player seat be in the same position at each 10 player table? When multi tabling it requires extra time to find my seat and reorient myself.

STRUCTURE - Once I'm playing an SNG, I can't get info in one click about the buyin or structure. Was this the low or mid stakes SNG? Am I near the bubble? Please see how FTP does it.

You can get rid of the banner by clicking on settings and then "Show news in game."

At the tables just click on the red chair in the bottom left to select a preferred seat.

for seating, sit at 1 table and 1 table only (do it at a table you don't plan on playing)...select your preferred seat, close that table and all new tables should have that preferred seat

Banners ---- Settings --> General --> uncheck "Show news in game"

SEAT ------ Next to the chatbox, there's a chair you can click that sets a default seat. From what I've read, best way to do this is open 1 table, take a seat, click the Pref Seat button, then close the table. From now on you should default to that seat.

Is there a way to get rid of the AsJh(21) Blackjack icon in the upper right corner?

Have more than 4 of each particular sng registering at a time. Takes way too long and is too time consuming for me to load up a large set.

Either turn off some of the popups you get when regging for sngs or give us the option to turn them off. Same for the stupid trophy screen after you cash and the popup saying how you won that comes 10 seconds later and gets in my way.

Clean up the sng filter. Let us manually input buyin ranges and maybe even a search function.

Having a "register for same game Yes/No box" when you bust like tilt does would be really nice. Maybe you could put how much you won in that box.

Also anything you can do to your software that will make it easier for tableninja to design a program. Maybe even communicate a bit with them. Having more addon software work with you site will give you a huge legup over cake and bodog.

Oh and youll never do this but get rid of the ****ing casino, I dont need that temptation.

Making it easier for people to multitable is gonna make you guys a lot more rake from sngs. Just food for thought.

1. Clean up the sit&Go's. There is WAYYYY to many pop ups.
2. The 10 table is way to clumped.
3. Why are all the tourneys 10 player????? 9 is standard I thought, yet there all 10 GROSS
4. Display your Cash balance somewhere on the skin maybe?
5. Is there no Time bank for sit&go's? Just add a 5 second or so timebank

After playing for a couple days I would say I'm fairly happy with the software, but as others have mentioned there are a couple improvements that could be made.

1) additional security - some sort of double authentication (rsa token, pin, etc.) would make me more comfortable putting (and keeping) more money online.
2) more lobby filters - the ones you have are ok, but more robust filters would be handy
3) ability to mod tables/cards - the regular tables look ok, but I would love to be able to customize the look of tables and cards (if that isn't possible, then waffle cards please!)
4) sit out next big blind on all tables option would be a godsend
5) finally, the time bank on merge is really almost useless and makes multitabling harder than it has to be, please consider changing the way this works.

Send a PM to Seth and he will get the casino disabled for you. I'm not sure if it's supposed to also make the tab disappear or not. I PM'ed Seth about that because I asked him to disable mine a couple days ago but the tab is still there.

I noticed last night that I can change the color of MY player icon. So it would be a very simple fix to extend that to color code to everyone. Plus, the entire color palette seems to be there, giving us way more color coding options than we had on other sites.

Looks like there is an update that just rolled out for the client. Main difference is that you can see your Real Money Balance in the Lobby instead of having to bring up the Cashier. Thank God!

When I have a HUD running, the screen is cluttered enough without the Blackjack icon. I'd like to remove it too.

This is a good start, but we really need a pin # and simple style waffle cards. But it's a step in the right direction. Glad to see Seth/RPM/Merge is listening to it's players!

WIN GAME POPUP - Why are there two popups 10 seconds apart saying I won?

PLAYER NOTES - The line breaks on the hover popup are messed up. It's not even because of long lines. Short lines are being broken and extra blank lines added.

LAG - Is it just me? All the animations are jerky and laggy.

HAND HISTORY - A visual history is much quicker to analyze in the middle of play than reading and scrolling through dozens of lines of text for a hand.

Edit: My biggest suggestion, rather than listing every little thing, is for RPM to just take another look at everything FTP and Stars have already done, and do the same thing. Those companies have spend untold amounts of time and money getting feedback from players and figuring out what features a poker client needs to have. They have gotten to the point where their clients are just about perfect. There's no need to reinvent the wheel here. Just work one-on-one with a few high volume players to get them to teach you why the FTP and Stars clients are the way they are.

1) I would also like to see the ability to Color other player's entire boxes. It looks like you can do it for your own - would it be hard to implement it for other players?

2) Cards - Could we have an option where the cards just have a giant number/letter, and a background color for suit? Stars did that and I liked it - it made the table look less 'cluttered'

3) Chips - Could we size chip graphics to be larger?

When a table is in a smaller window (i.e. tiling 4 tables) i feel a few simple changes would make visualizing everything easier

/thread

but seriously. the software on merge is pretty bad. There're people who signed up, then left, just because of the software. Its really hard to follow the action. Pleeeeeeeeeese make some changes asap, and just as important, make changes that will allow people people to mod it also. thnx
04-27-2011 , 04:31 PM
I signed up almost a week ago now, and am starting to get used to the software, but as others have said following the action is still hard. When I first started playing I was having a hard time playing only a few tables. Now I can play about 12 at once, but it is much harder to do than on Stars, and I misclick or timeout a few times an hour. I have a hard time knowing right away if anyone has raised and who has raised or folded before my action, especially 3bets. Also, it takes me a few seconds sometimes to see who is on the button. On Stars, I always new exactly what had happened the second it was my turn to act, and it was much easier to follow the action on more than one table. Also when a player is all in, and my action, the button just says all in without the amount. The amount should always be on the button to call/raise.
04-27-2011 , 04:46 PM
the main reasons why its harder to follow the action, imo, is

the dealer button is too small

theres always 1 stack of chips no matter how many different denominations are being bet

the rake indicator

having 2 different numbers where the pot is.

too "busy" in general.

This may have been covered already, and correct me if I'm wrong, but RPM only gives 30 days to clear the first deposit bonus? Lock gives 60 days, and Carbon gives 90 days. It would be great if RPM increased their FDB duration to at least 60 days.

Edit: Oh, and I also would like a 4-color deck option, An easier way to follow the action, Sit out next BB, and a good Hand replayer. Honestly, Squeebo said it best. Just look at Stars/FTP and copy all of the stuff that they did cuz they did it right. The closer you can get your software to match Stars/FTP, the more popular u will become.
