Thanks a lot curt777! This might be the solution to my problem. I had no idea they can do that. It should be in the client like in PokerStars. I hope it will work, it's not like I have gambling problems, all the money I lose is from my tournament winnings, so I don't wanna self exclude myself from all games.

I'm interested in any kind of solution, softwares, lobby modifing, whatever. I have TiltBreaker, but that doesn't support Merge.

Ask yourself if you like money before you sit at a cash game. Also, a leak like that implies you lack discipline (to say no to a game you know you're -EV in). Work on that imo even if you can somehow get CGs blocked from your lobby.

This problem is solved, I emailed support, and a few hours later they made the restriction.
I can't sit at cash game tables, but have full access to tournaments.

Crazy crazy. I remeber about 3-4 years ago I was like you on FTP/Stars. I was primarily a MTT grinder who did well, but would lose tons at the cash tables. Eventually, I decided it would be in my best interest to focus solely on my cash game play. Now, I play both equally as well...probably cash games a little better ATM. I don't know why you should block cash games all together, but you should have restricted the limits in which you can play as cash games are where the real consistant money is at and they also help you in early stage tournament play when you are playing deep.

I'm planning to work on my cash game skills, but I have to rebuild my roll first as I lost most of it at low/mid stakes nl. I somehow lose my mind in cash games, and can't control myself. After a few bad beats or coolers, I become a very aggro donk, playing too many hands, folding every flop if I don't hit, moving up limits, etc. These things almost never happen while playing sng's. I never want to play higher if I'm on tilt, and won't get crazy and go all in every hand. I rather use my entire time bank for 1-2 hands to annoy other players, and I'm helping myself to cool down after losing a big pot.

Havn't downloaded client yet, someone quickly tell me best rakeback/bonus program so I can decide if I want to deposit or not.

Also unbiased review of deposit/withdrawal process currently would be great.

I think Rakeback is not an option unless you have it on another skin. Not super sure so don't quote me on that. If you are a grinder RPM is good skin once you hit J level, with bonus and using double point days. None of these promotions are guaranteed, so the future can be different, but once on J level you can break even compared to rakeback or exceed it by a tiny amount. Q level is the same 35% rakeback with double point days really boosting your return. However, if you are a super grinder > $3000 raked per month you will exceed your monthly conversion at 35%. Only 3 conversions per level. You can convert more often but will be an lower rates .. J level 30% so that is the next step down.

J level requires $5000 in rake and Q requires 10K in rake.

You have to have a bonus to make J breakeven, Q is auto break even. Bonus's come and go and some will be cancel by withdrawals. Initial bonus is canceled if you withdraw. You can do a transfer and not cancel your bonus. You can't transfer to another account for a few weeks/required play. You can get a transfer for initial deposit bonus but check with RPMJon or RPMSeth first (see below).

Deposits, WU is best or Gift card trading and bank transfers (be careful, don't get scammed) but you get 1.15 on your 1.00 deposit. WU is fine if you follow the instructions exactly. Screw it up and you will be just another complainer.

Withdrawals .. it is US facing so forget about quick cashouts. 6 Weeks is average 5-7 is current overall rate. Max $2500, if you are win a lot. 1 check at a time, so that is $2500 every 5-7 weeks. Plan accordingly and you won't be disappointed, the checks come but it takes time. Merge is the main cashier for all skins. Carbon/RPM/Lock are all the same. Lock offers wires currently but that is a separate casino cashier. Any skin that handles their own cash outs presents a few more risks .., not that it is that much worse than merge or any U.S. facing site.

RPM most likely has the best promo-s are very close to it, if you grind more or play a lot of hands in a month definitely.

Limit rake is brutal and .5/1 to 3/6 are most likely unbeatable for straight cash. With rakeback you can get a nice monthly check and keep your skills up.

Can't comment on NL play, or tourney play.

Overall, merge as the most games going and is the biggest US facing site. If your going to play, some of your roll has to be on merge. As for other offers for other skins I can't comment.

Also, as for service RPM is by far the best. You may not like the answer but you can get an answer in < 5 minutes 12:00pm EST to 12:00am daily. You have to online chat at the rpm website, not via client or other chat links, go to the website and RPMJon is always there.

Finally, to withdraw you must be verified!! .. It is quick and easy, chat RPMJon and he will walk you through the drill.

Afaik, no skin is offering rakeback for Merge. I've heard a rumor that it's possible to get pm'ed a rakeback offer from a different skin but I don't personally know if that's true.

One difference between RPM and other skins is that your "VIP" rating is for your total lifetime play on your account, rather than having to reach a goal number for each month. I.e. going on vacation or having the flu won't mess with your level.

For instance, I am at 'J' level right now. I will get the benefits of that level no matter how much or little I play. Before, when I was at Stars if I didn't play enough they would drop me down a level for that month.

As far as bonus promos go, at this point they seem as if they are designed to benefit players that play the most hands, as opposed to the players that generate the highest rake. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.)
I haven't earned one in months; whereas in Sept/Oct they had bonuses awarded to those who made a certain number of points in a month, or those who made 100 points daily... I was able to complete those. So, your playing habits will affect which promos you will like. There seem to be more players who like the way the bonuses have been going the past few months. (I guess I should go over to that thread and put up my view of it too.)

I've seen a couple of Merge skin comparison charts but I couldn't find them in my bookmarks. You might be able to find them with some search and googling.

Imo, it makes sense to make RPM a "home" skin and get ones VIP level up to J, and then you always have that, even if you later need to open an account on another skin in order to stagger withdrawals. (I hope this makes sense. My writing skills seem to be deteriorating.)

I (surprisingly) had no problems at all when I deposited using my debit card of a major bank. I had read about a lot of other US players not being able to use their cards, but I decided to try, and it went through easy and without a hitch. Perhaps, it helped that I've had the same bank account for over 15 years. I dunno. This was in June 2011.

Also, Seth was very helpful with any little question I had when I was figuring things out as a newbie. And, our little RPM community here is helpful and respectful with a minimum of douchery.

It's not easy to clear the deposit bonus on RPM. I made a comparison, and on RPM you have to rake $75 to clear $10 bonus, you would have to rake $50 on 888 and only $30 on PS for the same amount.

One question about the VIP points. I don't quite understand, this is the first month I played on Merge, I have about 2.5k points, do I have to convert it to cash before the end of calendar month or otherwise I lose it all?

Hi, what is the best way to deposit onto RPM?

Nope you can wait as long as you want, unless you have rakeback. Different story for those accounts. Otherwise, you can wait. You have to look ahead though and see how many you convert at higher levels as only 3 per month. At the same level, you can do 10 but you have to do 3 at the highest, 3 at the next level you qualify for at that time, etc.

See my post and the debit card post above. Gift cards don't work too often. Now, I'm assuming your a US player, if not then anyway you like.

How do you convert points to cash?

It will be under "Player Admin" then "Point Exchange" I believe.

Anybody ever do any math to calculate the # of VIP points they have averaged per 100 hands at different stakes?

Its really just a rake calc, I can't give you no limit but limit 6max is 3.8BB per 100. So 1/2 limit is $7.6/100 or 76 points per 100 ..

If you use PT3/4 or HEM you can get contributed rake and do the maths or you can cheat if you know your rake/month and multiply by 10. Though double point days (yea) can add a pretty good amount per month.

I know this has probably been asked before but I don't have time to search right now.

I had a custom player icon on RPM (Merge) for many months since I started playing last May. Months ago, the custom player icon disappeared. I tried serveral times over the months to get it back on but with no success. I tried again yesterday to try to re-upload it with no success. This is the same one that I had before so I wouldn't think it would be the avatar picture causing the problem.

Does anybody know why I can't upload the player icon again or have any solutions?

Thanks,
Doc

M3 t00 with the player icon. I think it's only been a few weeks since mine disappeared, but when I try to re-upload on https://rpmpoker.playeradmin.com/ it says "Icon Successfully changed", but when I sit at a table, it shows the default RPM logo.

Also, while I'm here ... can I rant about about the "[ ] Wait for BB" setting? For some reason the client insists on (apparently) randomly switching it back on. I sat in at a table in the blinds, so naturally I have to wait until the button has passed me by and expect to be sat in at CO, since I have "[ ] Wait for BB" unchecked. When I'm not sat it, I go to see what the options are, and somehow "[X] Wait for BB" is checked. So I uncheck it again, expecting to be sat in at HJ, and a fraction of a second before its my turn to post the blind, the client - all by itself - rechecks the "[X] Wait for BB" option !!!! grrrr

I flopped Quad Jacks and sent an email in as directed, but haven't received a response. I'm just posting to get it on the record in case you missed it. Can you confirm receipt?
