How about coming out with a series from Merge?

MWS- Merge Winter Series

Run like 15 events, all with nice GTDs. A HU, Shootout, Prelims, and a Main Event across all Merge skins

Did you even try to understand what is going on? This is a thread.. about a tournament series that will be coming in March... and you went ahead and asked for a tournament series.

Yeh, I'm not really sure what the point of this series is.

If you are a smaller network like merge running your first series there isn't much point unless you take some chances with the guarantees.

They can't have guarantees as big as stars events, but they should be as big as they can make them.

If you are a network the size of merge running your first series and there aren't overlays in 20%+ of the tournaments you aren't doing it right.

You don't make a series a success by making people yawn at the guarantees.

Look at event #1. 7500? Is that a joke. Promote that tournament with an actual guarantee and it would be the largest field ever on merge.

Needs more NLHE imo

Dont worry, im sure this is a joke and theyre going to release theyre real schedule any day now. The guars should be nice enough that people who have the option of playing on stars would contemplate playing on Merge for value. No ones going to waste screen space on a $10/750 person guar torny even if theyre 24 tabling

As an American player , do you have something better running that day ? quit bitching imo . I think its cool that they are bringing out new stuff . Keep it up Merge

You are pretty easy to please. Doesn't matter if they do a decent job just as long as they do something.

The most important part of a tournament series is the guarantees. Tournament series allow people to play in bigger events than are offered daily(or even weekly). Also, they allow you to play in a variety of events that have larger fields than they normally would(shootouts,PLO, HORSE,8 game, etc).

It doesn't make for much of a tournament series when all the guarantees look like they could be offered for daily tournaments.

If these guarantees look okay to you its just because of the terrible job they are already doing of managing their daily tournaments.

There are probably network politics involved. No one wants to take responsibility for an actual guarantee.

I think they are doing a decent job.... ffs it's the first series... and yes, I'm sure there are network issues that have to be considered that stars/ftp didn't have to deal with and those things might have prevented bigger guarantees. Also, I'm sure the network has to realize that they could basically go up in smoke any given day.. so they are probably being a bit more careful with decisions like this.

The only really big failure of this will be if they don't learn from people wanting bigger guarantees and mixed games.. plus whatever else players suggest during and after the series.

Lol, I'll take what I can get these days. It'll be a good chance for me to use some of the 92853 tournament tickets I have.

Can the time zone be added to the tourney list please?

Can you please add some non turbo sats that are more in line with entries being 10% of the ticket rather than 3% or 1%, i.e. a $5 sat to win a $33 ticket or a $10 to win a $109 ticket? Why must the majority of Merge sats (even tourneys) play like turbos or super turbos?
