As far as WU withdrawals go, if Merge could do it, they would.
Well that's good to hear. I was only commenting on someone saying that they had to wait 2-3 weeks for the new check, so I don't really know. But I would like to ask why Merge can't use WU withdrawals. It would seem easier for both parties involved.

wow so i might be the biggest failure ever. i planned on playing 8k hands today for that $109 tourney ticket promotion and i went out to eat thinking i would have enough time, but when i came back only had like 2 hours left and needed liked 3k hands to go, so i 18 tabled 4nl for 2 hours to get to roughly 7kish hands. Anybody got an easy way to spend points on tournys?
Maybe something you can grind rather than hoping a tourny at that time will accept points.
Is there a way to just buy tourny tickets with points rather than buying in?

I got a bigger fail imo. I lost over $109 to make the 8k hands and I was up $100 at the 4k mark.

To be fair, the "remedy check" (The one that makes up for the bounced check) only took 10 days to get here.

But I still don't have an answer from RPMSeth: How long do I need to let the check sit there in the bank before I can be assured that it will not Bounce or Undo Itself?

When the check clears and the funds are in your account, that means the check did not bounce!

I don't know about this... I've read stories about people having checks bounce in the time frame of 1-2 weeks after deposit when the funds become available within days.

Same, I've seen many people post that.

Its really up to your bank, they can give you access to funds that are uncleared or not. International checks I think take about 2 weeks to clear. I guess a rough guess is 3 weeks to allow to clear then the money is yours. I guess your bank could tell you if it is cleared but I don't think any of us really want to draw attention to those checks.

If it were me I would open a new account at a different smaller bank or credit union. Spike that with some cash, do a few transactions through it, and deposit new check there and just let it stew. Then pull the cash out after the 3 weeks to your primary account. In this day and age I think we need separate poker and real life accounts. I will do this when I decide checks come fast enough to move out of the gift card world.

Unfortunately, that would not be the case with our bank...(credit union in our case). Unlike the big banks, the funds on the deposited check are available within 10 minutes. No holds or credit the next business day like the big banks.

I suppose the best thing to do would be to deposit into our savings, let it sit for a week and then call to verify that it has cleared.

or....(just read dmyers post above) True, I guess we dont want to draw attention to them.

6+ weeks to receive the check, then 3 weeks wait time for the check to clear - FANTASTIC! *smh*

A lot of banks are like that. U.S. checks usually clear within a couple days, but foreign checks take 7-10 business days. Most banks generally give you the chance to use the funds earlier than that, but you take the risk of having it bounce after you spend it. If there's any doubt... don't spend it for at least 2 weeks IMO

I just want my check! Nearing 5 weeks of "pending approval" now

This is getting a little unnerving. CLEARLY merge is having issues beyond having to process a large number of withdrawal requests because nobody's withdrawals are being processed right now. They're doing a good job keeping their internal issues secret but let's hope this is resolved very soon otherwise things will start to get out of hand real quick as they lengthen the processing time yet again to 6-8 weeks.

However, I went to 3 different check cashing places today to try to cash it this time. All 3 refused to cash the check. At Walmart they gave me a little slip of paper that says, "we cannot cash this check. our decision was based on info provided by Certegy Check Services,INc. Blah blah blah"

What kind of B.S. Check do you give me ? Every place I take it they give me a "WTF is this?" look and ask me what it's for. I just lie and say internet commissions. WTF am I supposed to say?

So I deposited this check into a different bank account. I'll wait TWO weeks this time to see if it bounces.

RPM you are not winning my heart and mind over
FWIW, I've gotten checks from other sites, taken them to the bank who issued the check and had them refuse to cash it until I got management involved. And that was pre-Black Friday. The current situation is sick. RPM has very little impact on whether checks bounce. It's more of a processor / bank issue, from what I understand.

Certegy is a fairly large company, if I'm not mistaken. They service a lot of big corporations. You might have better luck using a smaller, lesser known check cashing service.

Wow..nice!

Yeah, the day is off by an hour from eastern time-zone on Merge. They don't do Daylight Savings or something. You need to go by the clock in the lobby. I'm in the eastern time-zone U.S. and know that the double-points for Monday doesn't begin until 1 a.m.
06-06-2011 , 02:54 AM
The official clock is central standard time.
06-06-2011 , 03:21 AM
Space - Right now we are on daylight savings, right? So it would currently be on Central Daylight Time...or, in other words, same as Eastern Standard Time. Is that right?

I am going to assume that the Merge poker clock does not switch in November and that it will then sync up again with the eastern time zone. But I'm not sure.

However they get there, it now is running with CDT.

Wow 11 tables running between NL4.00 thru50.00 did they have a crash? Went on just to see the "clock issue" and noticed this. (Looks like regular old Central time to me)

Is it just me or is anybody else tired of having to see the picture of the freakishly skinny guy on the player account page?
