Re: JULY HEAT WAVE: New Overdrive Club VIP Program, $100,000 Rake Race, 125 Seats to $125k and

Going totally cold turkey on the promos every other month seems to defeat the whole purpose of getting people to play/stay on RPM. I mean, this month’s lack of value promos completely nullifies what last month’s awesome promo did to get people to play and give action to RPM. As others ITT have pointed out, there’s really no reason to play on RPM this month, including for those people who happily took advantage of last month’s very generous money cash grab give away.

Unless you’re already a high raker/high vip level, there’s just no incentive this month. And now that Revolution seems to have fixed their FPP issues, RPM’s non promos this month is more of an incentive for some, like myself, to at least check out the minefield that is Revolution.

Just sayin.

Well, we don't know the real reason they're so inconsistent with promos, but imo player liquidity is everything, and without rake and new deposits coming from tables that sustain games for long periods of time, you can't give away more promos, you can only give less.

They're all over the map with this thing, and Lock leaving doesn't help. I think they either have no clue what they're doing, keep trying new things because they still have no idea what they're trying to accomplish, or they don't care because getting too big could be a bad thing.

bored...

(rake = rakeback)

Overdrive Club VIP:

$1000 = $400
$2499 = $999.60
$2500 = $1125
and access to VIP freerolls

Top Gear VIP:

$1000 = $300 (J gear), $350 (Q gear), $400 (K gear), $450 (A gear)
$2500 = $750 (J gear), $875 (Q gear), $1000 (K gear), $1125 (A gear)
and access to VIP freerolls

Rakeback:

$1000 = $350 + T$65 (= $415)
$2500 = $875 + T$162.5 (= $1037.50)
no freerolls tho

I'm sure cutting promos really helps liquidity.

High volume players drive rake. Promos that offer a high effective rakeback % encourage high volume play.

A lack of promos encourage players who would rake a ton to find way to decrease rake paid and increase winrates.

For me that means playing MTTs instead of SNGs or cash as winrates are higher and rake is lower. I had the same situation on FTP before they would give me rakeback.

I wanted to play the super turbos and couldn't without rakeback. My rake was like 20x more after they gave me rakeback than it was before, because they offered me an incentive to rake more.

My guess is RPM should know what makes up their player base and how to make them rake more with promos at this point. This month indicates either a problem with RPM or a problem with Merge. Usually the problem is merge. It wouldn't hurt to reiterate that player balances and day to day business funds are separate though.

I wonder about this. I won a table share of the BBJ and they will not let me cashout more than $2500 every month and a half. I asked for an explanation and they refuse to give me one. The guy that won $170K will take YEARS to cash out. What a joke, I can't wait to get my money off. It does not feel safe. When I asked how high stake players cash out, they told me they cannot discuss another players account!

So what you are saying is that you wish you had not luckboxed into that money because then you probably never in a million years would have experienced the Merge withdrawal process which is super-standard like breathing. It has been 6 weeks for 2.5k since anyone from the US ever started playing on Merge and they always pay. If you want to get off more at one time then it is possible but it will cost you and Merge won't be doing the transaction because they want to continue to operate.

While I agree with you that the withdrawal process time-frame, although sucky, has been there from the start and should not be a surprise by now, the bolded part implies that if Merge were to cash out players' balances then they would not be able to operate. I do not like the implications of that AT ALL with regards to separate player funds and operating expenses.

Now, if you mean that larger, faster withdrawals put them on the DOJ radar then I retract the above.

I'm diggin the new overdrive club because jesus christ the vip program kinda stinks.

You guys are hurting yourselves with the lack of daily promos, even if it's some crap promo that makes average joe a few cents he's still happy to see that a promo is there!

This is exactly why they won't do these transactions, and all US players should be thankful.

I was always under the impression that rakeback players are not eligible for the VIP freerolls. They're called VIP freerolls for a reason...b/c they're meant for the VIP program players. Am I mistaken?
