It gets a lot easier after some practice. Maybe 50k hands. But believe me, I'm not very good at it. My winrate drops drastically. It probably doesn't help that I'm just not paying attention and clicking buttons sometimes, lol.

If I was just playing 9 tables tiled, like I used to, I'd get bored of 4NL or 10NL very quickly. Instead, I just play a bunch. I miss a lot in chat, but I usually pull big hands aside so I can watch them. Doing so allows me to see the chat afterwards. It usually consists of people telling me that I played that hand like a fish.

Really need to add an option to tile but not have it auto switch to mini... just have them overlap

Lol, thanks! I think I'm more of a nit-fish-tag though, haha. I'm okay at poker as long as I don't get to drinking and playing. Unfortunately that happens somewhat regularly. Last week I got annihilated and dropped like 15 buyins or more at 10NL somehow. Don't really remember what happened. All I know is I woke up with a bunch of my money missing. So, I checked my poker tracker sessions and sure enough I lost it playing poker. Haha, oh well.

Send me your sn if ya want. See ya at the tables.

I woke up with a similar problem, I was down $75, just 3 buy-ins at 25nl. I was certain I hadn't lost it, I was about to shoot stars an email about my missing money until I checked HEM. I hadn't been drinking but had taken an ambien before going to bed. I then vaguely remembered waking up at 4am and playing on my poker account in a zombie-like state. Losing 3 buy-ins wasn't that big of a deal but what really is a pain in the ass is I have a dream of dropping $400-$600 at 100nl all the time and do not know if it is real or not till I wake up and check HEM.

Re: How are you grinding?

I'd like to add my expereince; I have a 1920x1080 resolution monitor. I hate cascading, I love tiling.

I can tile in mini mode 12 tables, 3 rows, 4 columns. I use HEM too. Yeah, that Grid option just sucks.

But when I get to 13 tables, if I try to tile, then they get configured in such a way that the tables obscure ~1/3 of each other. I prefer to leave the 3x4 configuration and then put extra tables (13,14,15) to the side, such that only those tables (13-15) are obscured, and 1-12 are still visible.

Now I had a used Dual DVI PCI express video card off of ebay which died quite a while back. I was able to get 2 monitors up. I never really tested out what happens when you're running 2 monitors, and you are in mini mode, and tilling. Would the 13th window then tile to monitor #2? Or does the Merge client have no idea that you have 2 monitors connected.

(I'm thinking that FTP and PS DID know about multiple monitors, because I've seen so many screenshots with people with say, 4 monitors, and 6 games on each one)

Re: How are you grinding?

Pizza,
I am SHIPITDONKEY1 on Lock. Played with you earlier today and thought your game was pretty solid for the stakes. Hit me up if you ever want to go over some hands or general strategy. I have been grinding on Lock for the past month and was doing pretty well at 25/50 NL until recently. Had a monster downswing at 25NL due to bad variance/tilt so trying to rebuild my roll now at lower stakes. My skype name is gabor__szekely, add me if you're interested.
Anyway, GL at the tables and I'm sure we'll play again soon.

Re: How are you grinding?

Can you hook up a monitor to a laptop? I'm not too familiar with the hookup of modern day Monitors as I've only used a laptop for the past 5 years. I don't see where my old LCD Monitor would hook up too to my laptop. Please say Monitors can use a HDMI port

I'd contact ya, but I suck at poker these days. Can't even seem to beat 10NL anymore, lol. It's a combination of me playing poorly, tilt, and runbad. It also doesn't help that I used to play ~9 tables, and now I've been 16 tabling it. I suppose it also doesn't help that I tend to drink and play on a regular basis. Oh well, I'll turn it around eventually, at least I hope I do, lol.

I don't even have skype. I'm behind the times I guess. Feel free to PM me if ya want, though.

I'll see you at the tables.

Re: How are you grinding?

Haha, no worries man. You clearly don't suck (I have been watching you play a lot over the past few days) but I totally understand what you are going through. Exact same combo (tilt + bad play + runbad) has been plaguing me for the past few weeks on Merge as well. But if you're down, I would love to go over some hands sometime and see what your thoughts are as you seem to have a lot more experience on Merge than I have.

Anyway, GL at the tables and hit me up if you ever want to chat.
