How are you grinding? How are you grinding?

To all the merge multitable grinders out there:
What are your setups like?
I feel like I lose a lot of value dealing with the software (resizing windows, etc), and I was wondering what the most efficient players are doing.
Im using PokerTracker, but thats it for software, and I was wondering if there was anything else that can help. I haven't heard of anything

Any comments are appreciated

I gotta have the most basic, worst setup. One laptop, and only tiling or cascading tables. I never use the grid option as the hud doesnt work with it. Just keep regging for games and constantly hitting the tile option. Think i've had like 30 active games going at once

cascading tables on 15.4'' laptop. i like tiling, but tiling more than 2 tables put it into mini mode, AND I HATE MINI MODE.

Cascade is a must imo for playing 8+ tables unless u have a nice monitor setup. Merge keys helps out a ton

click on the box showing the bet amount and scroll away - works in mini-mode at least

I play 18+ tables cascading in mini-mode.. I used to use Merge keys but I don't anymore because I would be typing and fold too often even though I would turn off the MergeKeys..

I switched my monitor up.. I had a 17" monitor.. it worked with cascading.. now I have a 22" monitor and it's great..

I have three 20 inch monitors. It's great being able to separate programs rather than having everything cluttered.

I use Stack and Tile and it works flawlessly, can play 20+ tables with ease. If you don't want to purchase any software try out MergeKeys. It is also very good. Also, I find stacking the tables the only way to go with Merge. Btw if you use MK be sure to donate a little bit just to help keep it up and running. Gl!

Anyone playing merge, should get and donate a small amount to MergeKeys. http://www.runbetterpoker.com/

The click time button is worth anything. Lots of NL stuff in there for betsize etc.

If you haven't discovered it you want PT3 beta (last version) to allow you to select same seat across tables.

I have a problem with mergekeys where after i act on the current table, the other tables requesting action do not pop up ? How do i solve this ?

thanks for all the feedback guys. ive been doing full screen stacking on my laptop and tiling on my desktop. both options have kinda sucked. especially because of Mini Mode

I had similar problems which is why I only use SaT. I personally believe the problem is with the Merge client itself and not with MK. I tried playing without MK running and without and had the same issues. Make sure you turn off as much junk as possible with the site and with your computer and things will run alot better but not perfectly.

What are your biggest problems?

My biggest problems would be these (in no particular order):

When full screen stacking:
No way to mark an individual table
Tables get buried sometimes
Can't watch action
When tiling:
Mini mode
Tables small, hard to see action
Can't arrange tables in the orientation that I like

With both modes I cannot get anywhere near as many tables as i could on stars. I max out at about 12.

If you are like most people here who don't care about getting better. Play as many tables as you can cascaded. This way you can't get any good reads or take notes. But you'll get a lot of hands/hour that's for sure.

If you care about improving your game play as many as you can tiled. Follow the action in the hands you are not in and take a lot of notes.

I play 4 tables tiled in mini mode and that works best for me.

Good points. Occasionally I try to focus and take good notes, but that isnt so important for the SNGs that I play, volume is more important for me.

I can't see why you would use mini mode if you are trying to take notes though, that seems crazy to me.

I really am not grinding cash tables at the moment. I used to average 30k hands a month at stars but have switched to primarily tourneys here. For the 10k challenge I stacked using Merge keys. Put 24 tables in one slot and kept mouse basically in same position until I moved a table out to watch it during interesting hands.

This is how I'm grinding on RPM. A Dell 30" with a Dell 24" to the side. Sorry about the poor quality, I'm drunk.

Just started stacking/cascading max (or more) cash tables to grind up a roll on RPM. I'm switching over from Carbon because I feel that the VIP/bonus system is better on RPM. It's going to take me 12 weeks to get my roll off of Carbon, and I'm too broke to deposit a bunch of money on RPM to play my normal stakes, lol.

Gear 8 already. Go me! Lol

Unfortunately, I suck at poker, and playing 18 or more tables at once, so I'll be back at my normal stakes in 25 years.

I use merge keys for buying into tables and for repositioning tables when I pull one aside.

P.S. I'm not slowrolling you when it takes me more than and instasecond to click all in with the nuts. Got some guy all over my balls on PTR because I "slowrolled" him.
