ChessNetwork plays on it all the time and almost never loses a tournament even though he says he's only 2200+ in strength. Kingscrusher has been playing there often as well.

The set-up in general seems to remind a bit too much of Zynga Poker, but do any of you guys play on it and what do you think of the client and the level of competition?

decent client, as someone who doesn't pay to play, you will run out of free games to play, and it becomes kinda ghey at that point

its perfect for me there, juts gamble some cubits each game and u play for free if your better then 50% of the members..

Might be tolerable if you only like fast games. The flash client is glitchy for me (pieces randomly stick, are slow to respond) so it is out for fast games for me, but I don't like fast games anymore anyway. For slow games, it's a complete joke. You can't even play a time control that isn't in their dropdown box, and the options in that dropdown box do not meet my needs. They have no separation of ratings for different time control ranges at all: there is simply a normal rating and a tournament rating (or something equally stupid).

The whole cubits and crowns thing is just stupid and annoying. Oh really, you hate those ugly pieces that chesscube makes you use? No problem, just buy some other ones with some cubits (really?). Here are some more normal looking ones that take up 1/4 of the square. That's better right?

I tried a few games there and the idea seems ok, but after getting pretty bad lag and a couple of glitches I wasn't so impressed..
