Yeah. 12 games is so meager for a WC match. Still, I went through most of my chess 'career' having virtually no hope of a WC match being in the U.S., never mind close enough that I can drive to it, so I'm excited.

I guess they are expecting either Caruana or Nakamura to get through the candidates.

Even though I hope for Svidler to he gets his chance to play for a title, I am pretty sure that Naka will rape the field pretty hard. There is only one player whom he can't beat and that's Carlsen.

Karjakin will be the next world champion in November. Would be cool if a Russian is the next poker world champion this year as well. Wonder if Joe McKeehen will "defend" his title this year...

He's already dropping previous agreements (withdrew from Norway Chess - what an ass) so it does seem like he may be properly consumed/motivated to beat Carlsen.

Hope Carlsen rolls up Norway Chess and then demolishes him during the match, laughing at him the entire time.

How ridiculous to pull out of a tournament at the last minute because of a match seven months in the future. Now I have someone to root for in the WC match anyway (not Karjakin)
