OK, done.

I am definitely interested but really busy these days. Feel free to bump me down the list for now.

I'll pass for now. I might have some extended periods with limited internet access before a game can be expected to be completed.

I'd actually be really interested to play under the conditions given, except I'm quite a bit lower rated than scholar. I'd like to say im underrated but I guess everyone says that . I wonder what kind of game people would like to see more - one where players are evenly (or close to it) matched, or where one side is quite a bit stronger? What does everyone else think? Me playing vs scholar would most likely result in a worse quality game but would probably provide more learning value for less experienced players.

Actually, you'd be playing A.Ertbjerg -- I'm the one trying to jump the line. But still good questions.

I would much prefer to play somebody at around my strength. I wouldn't mind you playing Sholar (or somebody else) before I play a game but I wouldn't be interested in playing you.

before googling: I think it's from Anand-Kasparov from Credit Suisse in Horgen

after googling: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZqcT66Fkzw yep it was

That's right. 1996, Anand-Kasparov. Here's the game if u like:

http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1018678

Before the blunder, after Anand's 33.Re1 , Kasparov (black) was with a decisive advantage of around -2.50
After 33. ... Qxe3??, Anand gets the advantage, so that was a more than 3.0 points (engine evaluation) mistake.
It's nice to see how even the best player ever can collapse psicologically. Note that after the mistake white is better, but only slightly. The real mistakes came few moves after, to finally lose the game. They had even equal position at some point.

OK, I don't see people clamouring to play seswatha, so let's have Sholar and A.Ertbjerg to start in the next couple of weeks. After that, seswatha vs whoever wants.

Since Valenzuela vs KyleJRM82 has drawn to a close, I started a thread for A.Ertbjerg vs. Sholar here.

Would anyone be interested in having a Fischer-random match like this?

we only have one active game at the moment which is fairly far in, lets start another one. After that we can start another one after a couple of weeks, no need to wait months.
seswatha ~1700
Nikachu ~2100
airwave ~1900
Fistdantilus ~1900
jewbinson ~1500
Dynasty ~1700
Brownian_Motion ~1750
DON CASTI 2000
Noir_Desir 2150
chessterfish ~1400
chocaholic ~1750

We don't have to go strictly in order of seniority on the list, but it's a start. If seswatha and Nikachu are interested, they can play each other, or each find another opponent from the list if they prefer (the rating diff would be quite large).

I'm ready whenever someone else is. 2114 FIDE.

How does one play a malkovich game? lol

I can understand why its not ideal to have multiple games on the go, but it seems to take along time to set them up if you are near the bottom of the list. Don't know if this would warrant a subforum at all to get multiple games going? Either way I'm not expecting to be near the top any time soon, so if someone just wants to play an ordinary correspondence game by pm's I'd be up for that?

I am interested, although I am sure it will be an easy game for you given the rating gap!

Alright, lets do it. Just someone teach me how to do it. I must hide the comments to all my moves? And is there instructions how to post positions?
