This was very enjoyable. The Rock Paper Scissors game at the end was a great finish. Hope chess gets more coverage like this.

Just wanted to bump to be sure that anyone who might find this interesting sees it. It's good to see chess getting some mainstream coverage.

I'll watch this when I get home, thanks for ttt'ing it. Did you see Magnus on 60 Minutes a few weeks ago? I thought that was good too.

Re: Magnus on the Colbert Report (video)

Yes I watched it a few times. The blindfolded 10-game simul (almost said multi-table lol) was incredible. The interviewers questions, though, reminded me a lot of something Kasparov said in one of his older books about Karpov. After he won the World Title, everyone wanted to ask him how many moves he could see ahead and how many positions he remembered and all that, no one wanted to know about Sicilian Defenses and all the things he had to actually study to get there.

There's a fascination with natural gifts that we all have, which completely ignores the technical aspects of almost any high-level activity.

You'd probably like this book, it's a very good read regarding talent vs. practice http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bounce-Myth-...dp/0007350546/

I see, looks very interesting. Probably similar to Outliers which was also good. Thanks.
