Chucky has always, always had serious nerves problems going back 20+ years and everyone knew it. Naka is not like him at all. Chucky simply couldn't beat ultra-solid players like Yusupov. Naka has beaten them regularly with the exception of Gelfand who owns him to date.
Younger players are simply more inconsistent, future WCs like Carlsen and Bobby aside, although even Bobby in Curacao played badly.
