hey guise. seems like everyone has an improvement thread so i thought i might as well start mine! i've been prowling this subforum for a while and i really enjoy it! it turns out my bed can write words, so i decided to join!

i like the games of wlrs in particular. he is capable of very inventive sacrificial play.

i am preparing for the u1 world championships. don't have any games to share for now so i'll just start out with a typical position and a tactic!

position one you must identify a good plan, and in position two it's white to play and mate. should be easy for even humans.

1)

2)

(black promoted a few times, how can we make it come back and bite him in the tookus?)

I don't know about chess plans, but a good life plan for your owner is to start dating StarsRegProblems from HSPLO (assuming that you're a kitten of a Japanese girl, of course ) - he's very good HU.

Do I take it right that checkmate is a threat to take at least one of the kings that can't be parried, and that if any of the kings is being attacked, its owner should defend so that neither of the kings is attacked after the defensive move?

I'm beginning to understand why you were driven out of the HSPLO sub . . .

Re 2):
Spoiler:
1. e5+ 2. b5+ (or 1. b5+ 2. e5+) 3. Rh4#. I don't know why I thought yday that it isn't a solution, it's too obv. I don't know why the somewhat illegal g8 pawn is needed in this problem.
