It's black to move.

White is GM Høi, who might be known for this game

Obv. I've already looked it over with Fritz, but it might be interesting to see if people can find what I missed. The game was played with 30 min/game time limit.

My first instinct is Bxf6, hxg6, Qh7, but that seems a little too obvious and I'm a scrub.

agree with Nf4..Nf4 gxf4 h3 looks pretty winning to me

Not really sure what to play in your game but thx for posting the Hoi-Gulko game, didn't know that gem.

Was drunk when I posted that...I meant Bxf3, hxg3, Qh7. Probably still wrong

1.. Nf4 2. axb6 Nxe2+ 3. Qxe2 Qxe2 4. Nd4 looks sort of interesting but I guess black is fine in most lines.. My human brain cannot calculate it all, but my pride wont let me turn Rybka on to analyze it for me!

black is crushing after white sacs the queen, black can always exchange bishops and play kb7 after finding a safe square for the queen, no?

and if that fails, Qxf1+ still leaves black with a big material edge and a looming kingside attack after hxg3, and with a future axb6 white has no attack whatsoever.

I think it is hard to find a safe square for the queen. After Q?? white has Bxb7 Kxb7. Nc5+ and I think black is in trouble.

Qxf1 is probably the best option.

I dont think there is a need for the complex nxe2+, because just axb6 and the open a-file doesn't really change anything and gxf4 is still bad.

axb6 also gives black a huge (as in winning) edge also, but with the nxe2 @ Qxf1 option black is just up an exchange/pawn with no queens on the board and no weaknesses.
