Well, unfortunately, I did not get the chance. The Dragon player was moved up to board 2, so I had to play against the Pirc guy on board 3 (who did not play the Pirc but the Sniper Modern...).
After 1. e4 g6 2. d4 Bg7 3. Nc3 c5 4. dxc5 Qa5 5. Bd2 Qxc5 6. Nd5 Na6 I had forgotten the theory. I just remembered Nd5 with the threat Bb4. The knockout try is 7. Nf3! Bxb2?! 8. Rb1 Bg7 9. Bxa6 bxa6 10. 0-0 with a very good position. And if 7. Nf3 e6 8. Bc3! and White also has a very good position.
In the middlegame my advantage vanished and we were about to enter a massive time scramble when he offered me a draw with 12 moves left (me having 10 minutes, him 3 minutes). This cost me 5 minutes because the other 4 boards that were still playing all were unclear and in time trouble too.
I played on, but made a big positional error by exchanging rooks, and after having reached move 40 with some seconds left, i was presented with this position:
At first I thought I had totally ****ed up and lost the game, but after I took a deep look at the position I was confident it still was a draw. It turned out I had calculated correctly, and in the end we drew. The match ended 4-4 which was a success for us, considering our opponents were only relegated to our league this season.
This position might be interesting for some guys to test their endgame calculating abilities. I think I played it more or less flawlessly after move 40, so I have attached the pgn of the game (as solution). There is another interesting moment if he had played 46... a5 instead of 46... Kc2, when White can very easily go wrong; in fact, a kibitzing 2400 thought 46...a5 would win, but it is a draw after the right move.
