Chess cash games online?? - Chess and Board Game Strategy

Why would you want to play chess for cash if you're a noob?

You can play on playchess for money. I wouldn't do it in a million years due to cheating, but maybe I'm just paranoid.

Just make sure you´re using the latest version of Rybka and that your hardware is up to par.

You can play for small amounts on WorldWinner.com.

The interface sucks, the rake is high, there is no lag compensation, it's hard to get a game, and most play at 2.5 minutes blitz to prevent cheating.

You can play for money at Playchess (www.playchess.com)
They call it ducats (as in poker is chips).

I've won some freerolls on playchess for 500 ducats and played with them for a while.
See how much rating you can make at playchess first.
If you cannot make more than 2600 don't play for ducats.

Thanks for the advice Harlequin, i have signed up for playchess.com, and have been suprised how many people have lost their elo rating because they have been detected using software. I shall not be playing online for cash, just for fun and improvement.

Some is gonna get banned here imo. Very strange, to go berserk just because of that completely harmless "Good news! Rybka is an IM or better" joke.

I have played a few games for ducats at playchess (3 0 and 1 0), in the first years of the server you could win them quite easily in various freerolls and I basically didn't know what to do with them.

I didn't get the impression that there was cheating going on. But I rarely found opponents with a lower rating than mine.

1. Play on your laptop on one of these chess play for pay sites.

2. Run the strongest Rybka on your high-powered desktop.

3. Relay moves. Maybe even with a partner to speed it up.

3a. If you're weary of getting caught as a computer cheater, then mix in plenty of 2nd/3rd/4th best moves along the way and make small human-like blunders that you know Rybka can recover from. Hustle baby Hustle!
