OH MY GOD ARGHRGAHLRGJKGSFG POOP IN MY TOILET

aglgjkasgjalfgagg
USELESS

CHESS IS FOR POOPHEADS

I get an advantage in middlegame and then hang a pawn to an elementary tactic because I'm tired. No big deal, I reorient myself and simplify to a drawn 2R+P vs 2R+P endgame.

THEN I MESS UP THE ENDGAME LIKE A PIECE OF POOP WITH FORTIFIED VITAMINS

why
whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Re: *** Chess BBV ***

You should try this maneuver out for Variance:

When you have Checkmate in 1, offer a Draw.

Then quickly Checkmate your opponent before they can accept.

This kind of animal abuse talk is disturbing and unnecessary. If I had a turtle I'd feed you to him.

Lol. Now you're just a moron or a troll or both.

from the article in question:

Quote:
Another (equally impractical) method is to have a "dictionary" of all possible positions of the chess pieces. For each possible position there is an entry giving the correct move (either calculated by the above process or supplied by a chess master.) At the machine's turn to move it merely looks up the position and makes the indicated move. The number of possible positions, of the general order of 64! / 32!(8!)2(2!)6, or roughly 10^43, naturally makes such a design unfeasible.
This was written by Claude Shannon in 1949, and as far as I'm aware the estimate hasn't been improved on since. If you have some new insight into this, perhaps you'd like to share it with the AI community?

I feel everything I said just hasn't expressed quite how unimaginably wrong you are.

for a comparison that might be useful to the layman, here are some statements that are less wrong than what you wrote:
  • The Sun weighs about as much as 10 elephants, and is about 6 inches away from the Earth
  • The furthest away object in the known universe is about 14 billion light years away. If you could walk there, it would take you less than a minute.
  • There are at most 5 possible permutations of a Rubik's cube.
  • There are less than 10 insects in the world.

I tried to use familiar objects and examples so that the average reader can understand just how wrong you were. But I had to use some astronomical examples, because your wrongness really is astronomical. The last one -- about the insects -- is actually over a million times more accurate than anything you have written in this thread.

It's amazing how much meaningless numerical milestones can feel so awesome. To wit, I just pushed my Chesstempo blitz tactics rating above 2000 and got ridiculously excited. THAT NUMBER'S GOT 3 MOTHER****ING ZEROS Y'ALL.
