Re: *** Chess BBV ***

after I played the conclusion of a very convincing attack my opponent, a 2300 5-min FM, resigned in a position where he had a forced way to win my queen with more than 40 seconds on his clock. complete chess blindness two ways is awesome.

brag or beat? just variance maybe.

and 2 games later, I am facing an IM who wins a free pawn in the opening on a very obvious mouse slip (I advanced the pawn en prise, rather than exchanging), and 10 moves later - he mouse slips his bishop en prise. running like this, I should be playing poker tonight!

Yes I did laugh.

Gimmick was banned because it wasn't funny enough.

My skill level currently

[Event "rated standard match"]
[Site "Free Internet Chess Server"]
[Date "2009.03.20"]
[Round "?"]
[White "Shadowruns"]
[Black "kamilc"]
[Result "1-0"]
[WhiteElo "1751"]
[BlackElo "1620"]
[ECO "C69"]
[TimeControl "900"]

1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 a6 4. Bxc6 dxc6 5. O-O Bd6 6. d4 exd4 7. Qxd4 Bg4
8. Qxg7 Qf6 9. Qxg4 Ne7 10. Nc3 Rg8 11. Bg5 Qg6 12. e5 Bc5 13. Rfd1 h6 14.
Ne4 hxg5 15. Nxc5 Qxc2 16. Ne4 Qxb2 17. Nfxg5 Rd8 18. Nf6+ Kf8 19. Ngh7#
{kamilc checkmated} 1-0

Pretty easy game. I only really go with the Ruy Lopez. If my opponent plays anything else I mainly go d4 if i can or c3 d4 in case of sicillian.

One of my better games imo.

I still lose a lot of games to tricks I dont know about and stupid blunders (that is becoming more rare).

Trolling in multiple threads, I hit the notify button. Others probably did as well.

Re: *** Chess BBV ***

the chesstempo site is like crack, but it tilts me like crazy that they use a computer to determine how the losing side defends. like there will be some 4 move tactic that starts with the obvious and only sacrifice, but after you play the first move - the 'defender' immediately gives away his queen to prevent the mate and you go on to the next problem.

finding the first move in tactical problems is usually quite easy. it's the follow up that's important, but on this site you often only need to find the first move and then the opponent goes kamikaze.
