Cool! He's not *that* far behind on my prodigy search - still high enough to have made my
current prodigy watchlist for May, with the 21st highest rating ever for a player of his age (at May 1st) or younger.
I'm assuming that his clear first place in Chicago (which I hadn't known about, and am glad you told be about) should net him a nice rating gain. I mean the field included tons of huge names, and his final two rounds were back to back wins over GMs Avrukh (2609) and Bruzon (2684)! It also looks like he picked up 10 rating points in another event that will be included in the June ratings list (played in September) so his live rating is probably somewhere in the 2525 range now?
Should at least climb back into top-20 in the watch list, plus now he'll be a Grandmaster which is always a nice feather in the cap
