I don't know yet who will be White today, but I predict a Queen's Gambit Declined.

lol @ the move colors in the commentary. 1. Nf3 unanalyzed, everything else optimal, and yet Black has the advantage? Wow, Kramnik must be a real patzer to go so badly wrong on the first move...

Kramnik sux. Aronian played his normal stuff, and Kramnik got a worse position right from the opening. Gg this match.

This is really ridiculous. The first game is either ongoing or over, and yet I'm struggling to find any English coverage, let alone the result. This is why chess has NO casual fans. I have to dig like CSI just to find the slightest information.

The links you posted had live coverage that was in English most of the time, along with the live post-game interview in English. Your first link lists the game's result. What are you looking for? Or is it just that this info was missing at the time of your post, but is available now?

Yeah I had to try several times. One of the sites wasn't in English when I pulled it up and the other site wouldn't load anything for me. It's very frustrating for me because I am a fan of chess and wish it had more casual fans like myself but I feel like the chess-media, small as it may be, makes it a struggle so often.

Chessbase was acting like the match didn't even exist. There was NO mention of it on the front page whatsoever.

Re: Aronian vs. Kramnik, April 2012 Match

wtf @ g4, f4 plan?? I mean, ok, u want to win and everything, but..... I don't know.

It remind me 1st game Fischer-Spassky match when in a drawing position Fischer lost his bishop trapped when trying to win. Maybe it could work phicologically in a long match, but in a 6 game...... i doubt it.
Missed my prediction

Re: Aronian vs. Kramnik, April 2012 Match

A comment from chessvibes : "The funny thing with the press conference was that it turned out that Kramnik was the only one of the two to know of the game with which Gunina won the European Championship last month. As had been pointed out in analysis immediately after that game Muzychuk had the advantage but missed playing 16. ... Qe6. Kramnik said that he hadn't even looked at the position with an engine but trusted (the 300 points lower rated) Gunina's preparation. Aronian didn't know of the game but had no problems finding Qe6 and from then on Kramnik was just outplayed."

This indeed is just a friendly match. The prizes will prob be shared 50-50.

.... But if you are comparing the absolute level of play, today's players are much stronger, without any doubt.
Yeah, sure. Maybe we should tell Kramnik that?

Lol, basing on a 1-game sample I could prove anyone to be a patzer.
