2012 Chess Olympiad - Istanbul

I know we're still a month away, but I'm really looking forward to the Chess Olympiad this year, particularly with our own YouKnowWho playing for Lithuania. Here's a link to the main page.

Go check out Russia's team, all 5 players are above 2736. Geez.

The event runs from 8/27 through 9/10 and consists of 11 rounds of play. Can't wait for it to start.

I played Sabrina from the England women team several times when growing up, so I guess I'm rooting for her :E

An IM guy from my club had an offer to coach Romania's women's team. I haven't talked to him in months so I don't know exactly if they came to terms, but if so - Go Romania!

Of course, i am also rooting for our German team. After becoming European Champions, expectations are high. It's basically the same team, with Khenkin having replaced Buhmann. A good result is possible.
