awesome fun fact: almost all games are finished, but on board 50 Sudan and Botswana slug it out: The shortest game ended in stalemate on move 92, the other 3 are still running

watching this makes me wonder how many people in Sudan know the Philidor defence in rook endings. Board 3 does not.

They put unrated players on boards 1-3 and a 2196 on board 4.

WTF how does an over-2200 player (he gained 6.6 points) only manage to score one point more on board 4 than someone who can miss a skewer on a nearly empty board and doesn't know a basic ending on board 3?

The team of my law school alone can compete with entire countries, we have a 2150 and three players that are 2000ish. Preety sick.

Give a book to someone you know locally learning the game...you win more then...

Pretty sure getting 1 and 2 correct on the nose is closer than having top 3 in random order.

And having #1 team 2 spots lower as compared to having only the #3 team 2 spots lower [or tied for 4th], and nailing #2 perfectly also.

Not even close, really.

But, as suggested, I'm sending about ~12 books to one of the PS in NYC.

welll , i dunno really.

juts nitpicking for fun

he got evrything beside the 3rd place finish 1st . so russia finish ahead of ukraine still and, when u take into account both first and second place finish with the same number of points !

and same score of 9 win 1 lost 1 draw !

i duno why russia finish 2nd really, probably some rating performance or w.e ?

pretty close to me

take the lotto example , u win when u have the numbers in any order , not when u have 2out of 3 or 5 out of 6 anyway

but he , its all about perspective right !

ps: at what point u think the first 2 place with a random pick win vs the 3 top place in random orders for your example ?
1,2 and 5th win obv.
about 1,2 and 10th ?
1,2 15th ?

just asking
