I never received any invite on chess.com. I checked DAILY.

Re: 2+2 Correspondence Championship (Chess.com)
Hokay, so. I screwed up on this one. I completely overlooked MidyMat's 11/19 request for an invitation. I saw his second request, but it came too late. I also ignored his PMs (repeatedly telling myself "I'll respond tomorrow") because I didn't really want to admit that I'd made a mistake. For that I would like to publically apologize.
Now, as for how to fix it, I think there is still a way. Joshua_Livingston has withdrawn from the tournament, and I feel we are early enough in round 1 that it is entirely reasonable to simply replace him with MidyMat. Of course I can't actually formally replace him within the chess.com tournament structure, so we'll have to go outside the bounds of that structure to resolve this, but we're creative here, right?
MidyMat: Please send two challenges on chess.com to each of the following four players: KerryStead, BobJoeJim, valenzuelaalvaro, and KyleMayhugh. Set the time controls at 3 days/move, set yourself to play white in one of the games and black in the other.
To the three of those four players who aren't me: Please accept both of MidyMat's challenges and play those games in place of the ones that Joshua_Livingston resigned.
At the end of round #1, I will manually re-calculate the Group #3 standings including MidyMat's games in place of Joshua_Livingston's. If the top two in my manual re-calculations are the same as the top two in the chess.com results (ie MidyMat finishes 3-5, and results against him aren't different enough to affect the order of the other players), then all will be well organizationally and we'll proceed with round #2 within the base tournament structure on chess.com. If the result of MidyMat's games DO alter the standings, then we'll figure out then what challenges need to be made outside the bounds of the tournament structure to maintain the proper order.
And thus spaketh BobJoeJim.

Re: 2+2 Correspondence Championship (Chess.com)
People make mistakes, but there is no need for me to come in late and disturb the tournament that has already started.
I would like for the tournament to just continue as it is set-up now. I do not want to slow down the tournament or interfere with the standings.
But thank you for the offer BobJoeJim

Re: 2+2 Correspondence Championship (Chess.com)
It really disturbs very little, since we only started this tournament up last week, and it won't change anything going forward unless you go out and actually win a few games, and if you do that I'd say it warrants the disturbance. The swap makes a lot of sense, also, since you are even rated pretty similarly to Joshua_Livingston. And if nothing else, you could just play the games for the sake of getting in a few games against fellow 2+2ers, with the understanding that it doesn't actually count toward the tournament standings no matter what happens.
If you would prefer not, though, that's of course fair; it's your call.

Thank you again for your apology and offer, but I feel that coming in late is unfair to the other players/standings.
Are there any more events before the end of the year?

Re: 2+2 Correspondence Championship (Chess.com)
Probably won't start up the next event until after the Holidays, but if I can dodge the laziness bug then look for another FICS Tourney to start some time in January.

Re: 2+2 Correspondence Championship (Chess.com)
One of the guys in my group timed out but us rest are going to be very close, all my 3 opponents are in the same strength ballpark (1900s-2000s in rating maybe) and seem also pretty hell-bent on not losing to me

Just be a little patient, I promise to give you your chances :-) (And I expect to have a rooting interest in you going 6-0 against our mutual opponents.)
It does look like that group's the toughest by rating, though...leaving off the forfeit, it's 2382, 1908, 1686, and unrated. Luck of the draw!

Indeed. I am going for the shutout.

Reason: Though basically all I have done so far is taking the pieces on offer.
