Sorted now.

In answer to your message:

We'll be running three games at a time, so as soon as one of our existing games is over (or as good as over), I'll start another. You should get an announcement when it's created.

In the meantime, just learn as much as you can

Might have to delete that game and find another. Seems we can't get a team of 10 out.

If you need bums on seats I'd be happy but since last l checked I am the lowest rated player in the forum so I may be more of a liability than an asset.

Ty, ty. I think I did it! And I signed up for that team match thing. I may be slightly underrated, but not bad.

Tilting and slightly confusing. I'm going through Silman's strategy courses. Very first game is this one http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1031765 Seems normal until this position:

I can't remember if I've seen this game before or not, but this looks like a standard Kh5, Bf7, Bg6, Kxh6 with mating threats or winning too much material. I had been trying to go straight for this plan. Nope. Lesson ends with Re7 in this position and black resigns. So I went to see the whole game and ChessGames shows Botvinnik repeated the above position once then went with the plan I had chosen Anyone familiar with this game? I know sometimes there are two "correct" scores for a single game, so maybe? Or are they screwing with me? Either way it's instructive. Just slightly tilting.

heh yea it has some mistakes, i retract some of my previous words after fooling around with it a little more. Since I have a high mentor rating it gives me Silman "roots of middlegame planning" (or something like that) and they are super super difficult. It's nice though but no roots by any means Also seems like it depends a lot on who has created the lessons, Silman's are the best so far.

One of my current games. Extremely happy with this game, easily the best game I've ever played. Still in progress so don't give me moves.

Crashed his queenside on his uncastled king, and too many of his pieces were trapped on their starting squares.

@youknowwho - how do you know if someone is using an engine?

Match 4 update...

i'm a pawn up in the 4th round match game and have a nice knight pin going on :-)

just wanted to share this, as i'm new to chess and the guy i'm playing is 1600 and so far i'm holding my own, spent some time studying opening strategy and it's paying off. Unfortunately he was a bit too shrewd to fall for the legal trap I tried on him in the early stages! But so far I like my position (famous last words?)
