White - Pips 138. Match Score 0/3

Black - Pips 148. Match Score 0/3
Black to Play 3-5
XGID=-b--BBC-BA---C-b-bccc---B-:0:0:1:35:0:0:0:3:10

What is the right move here and more importantly why?

Using the 3 to play 24/21 seems like a must. You're being primed in, and hiding on the 24 point is really bad for your long term prospects. You're ahead in the race by a little bit, so you're going to lose the timing battle if you've got two checkers stuck back.

After that, I run all the way out to the 16 point because white has lots of spares to attack you at the edge of the prime. I think he should probably be willing to hit loose and try to turn his priming game into an attacking game. (But look at how many ways he can make his 4 point! He's going to do much better than hitting loose most of the time.)

Black is behind by 10 pips before his roll. Nonetheless, I would also play 24/16. Making the 3-pt doesn't seem to gain much here.
