Hi,

I can't be the only one who like Crisloid cork boards but doesn't like their plastic non-lipped dice cups...

I'm looking for an upgrade to replace them with something better, with a trip lip. The only problem is that they are shorter than the average dice cups, I would like something about the same size that would fit the Crisloid board.

If I'm not the only one, what do you guys use? Or what would you suggest?

Finding a good dice cup that fits in the cup slot on a Crisloid folding set is nearly impossible. There are some good leather oval-shaped cups with lips which will fit inside a Crisloid folding set when it's closed. The only downside is that they'll rattle around when you carry it, but most players think that's a small price to pay.

I know cups like this are made by Svilo Tedorov from Bulgaria, and he have a good reputation in the BG world. Carol Cole stocks a wide variety of cups, and you can look on her website at www.flintbg.com for some ideas.

I took the crisloid cups and removed the cork from them. Next I place a 10mm of rubber on the inside bottom of the cups (no glue required there). Then I lined the inside sides with 5mm rubber - the tightness of the cups should also mean that no glue is required. Lastly I made a lip at the top of 2mm wide and 10mm deep. This was glued to the 5mm lining which you can just pull out as it is not glued into the cup. You glue this lip to the 5mm lining then when it is dry put it back in the cup.

The result is 2 very quiet cups with a good lip. They also "roll" well as the rubber catches the dice more and rolls them before they hit the lip. My wife loves the cups as they are so much quieter than before. I have had other crisloid owns offer to pay to swap cups with me but it is not hard to do what I have done.

Sorry to use metric but I cannot even remember how to convert to inches.

Sounds awesome but it's not really what I'm looking for, i still dont like the overall look of the cups.

I saw Carlol's boutique, i will have to email her, the cup dimensions are not mentionned on the website.

Crisloid boards are garbage. Try to move up to a real board as soon as feasible.

I have a better board already, it's just that I wanted to have a Crisloid cork board too, and I like it, now I just want to have nicer cups to upgrade it.

Crisloid boards are quite good for the price. I have a very nice custom-made set which I take to most tournaments. It's heavy, however, so I also have a tournament-sized Crisloid travelling set which I use if weight is an issue. I've had it for years and I'm very happy with it.

When Kent Goulding and I ran the World Cups we used Crisloid sets for all the boards for many years and got no complaints from our crowds, which were large and knowledgeable.
