Equity question

Dear Sirs,

This is a request for help from an old codger who played BG in the eighties and who has just recently taken the game up again.

I bought Backgammon Boot Camp by the late Walter Trice and have started reading it. It seems to be to be a very good read, with lots of technical info about the modern game. However, there is something which I can’t figure out, no doubt because I am just too stupid. I refer to some of the data in the diagram below, which appears on page 19 of the book.

Cubeless equity: 0.534

Wbg Wg W L Lg Lbg
8.7 33.5 55.6 44.4 0 0

1. Double, take 0.745
2. No double 0.733 (-0.012)
3. Double, pass 1.000 (+0.255)

The data to which I refer are the numbers relating to the “Double, take” and “No double” lines. I understand the “Cubeless equity” figure, derived from the win/loss percentage breakdown and (of course) the “Double, pass” line. The other two lines I just can’t figure out. I apologise if the answer is obvious, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation.
