White - Pips 164. Match Score 0/3

Black - Pips 161. Match Score 0/3
Black to Play 6-6

I played after some thought 8/2*(2) 13/1* thinking about blitzing my opponent and I discarded the usual 24/18(2) 13/7(2) and this is a 0.2 blunder.

Why is it correct to simply make 2 bar point (a sort o quiet move) instead of potentially blitzing?

Thank you

The two bar points are so strong in many ways. You have an advanced anchor locked down, you've started a priming position, you've unstacked the midpoint, and most of White's rolls will still let you blitz next turn. There's essentially no downside to this play, whereas the blitz lets White get right back in the game with an ace or 55 or 33 or 53. Also the cube is centered, so if you blitz and White rolls badly, you don't even win any gammons; instead you double and he drops.

Thanks. About the last part,
This was a 3 point match. Does it change evaluation the possibility of a gammon?

Sorry, didn't notice that. I was talking about the position in a money game. A score of 0-0 to 3 makes blitzing a little better, but I'd still make the two bar points.
