Hi guys,

I'm playing backgammon for like 2-3 months now and I play a lot against GNU Backgammon. I played several games against the bot and my average snowie error rate is 6.0 over more that 100 games ( I think it's pretty accurate to know an estimation of my average error rate, right ?).
So my question is, with my level (and I have yet a lot a thing to learn. For now, I'm reading the book of Paul Magriel), how would I be in a tournament in the EUKBF or WBA federation. Would I be totally crushed or not ?
Is there a big difference between "master" tournament and the other sides event ?

Thank you for answering me

A snowie ER of 6 after 3 months playing is pretty impressive. Are you sure you are playing fully on your own? Or are you occasionally using hints, checking pip counts, etc?

yeah I don't really know anyone who would be good enough to figure out bg on his own to post 6ER after 3 months of play, with this kind of progress you'd be a top 20 player in the world within 2 years

Yes, I'm taking backgammon seriously for like two months now. But I discover the game during the poker boom like in 2007. But at this time I just learned the rules and played a little bit, nothing serious.
Now, I just would like some challenge and given the fact that I was enjoying the backgammon, I decided to take it more seriously in order to play some tournaments.
And no, I don't play with the hints, it's all by myself. But after each game, I review all the moves I made and try to think why I made a mistake,...

If you can improve to an error rate of 6 within 2-3 months, you're probably the most talented player that has ever lived. You certainly won't get squashed by anyone in any tournament.
