I was wondering what correlation exist between average (and weighted) performance rating and elo rating on GridGammon.

I think about this extimation: (In every range the higher PR is for the one who has less elo obv)

< 1500 PR >15

1500-1600 PR 11-15

1600-1700 PR 9-11

1700-1800 PR 6-9

1800-1900 PR 3-6

1900-2000 PR <2

Do you basically agree?

A solution to this was posted on BGOnline recently. I can't vouch for the accuracy, but the result seems reasonable:

GGR = 2065 - 40*PR

(I rounded the numbers off a bit to make the formula easier to remember, and because three decimal places of accuracy aren't really possible in a formula like this.)

So a player with a PR of 3 would be expected to achieve a GridGammon rating of about 1945.

I'm consistently above 1900 and I can say with certainty my error rate is >3. I would have thought a 3.0 error rate would be somewhat higher than 1945, but it does seems in the ballpark.

How much higher than 3 I am is a closely guarded secret.
