Most ideal settings to practice with GNU? Most ideal settings to practice with GNU?

I've been using the new version of GNU and it's great.

I'm wondering what settings I should keep it at. I've been keeping the analysis level at grand master, as it's the highest setting that doesn't take too long while I'm playing.

I'm just wondering if there's an ideal setting or set of settings that gnu should be kept at. Other than analysis I've kept everything else stock.

also, can someone please explain the concept of luck/skill thresholds? what do those numbers mean?

I wouldn't have recommended Grandmaster for the older version because Odd ply for cubes (Grandmaster = 3 ply cube) was problematic. The new version you are using, just stick with Grandmaster if it is tolerable speed for you. The default values should be adequate without modification.

If you are looking at doing rollouts then I recommend seeing this link at BGONLINE by Taper_Mike.

As for the luck and skill thresholds they are somewhat arbitrary numbers that are only used to color code/emphasize the size of the error or the amount of luck in the move list window. I'd stick with the defaults.

ok, thanks. I figured the defaults were enough for practice purposes. Just thought there might be some tweaking the experts preferred.
