Hi Johnny,

Thanks for your answer in my other thread. As for your question, I hope you don't get frustrated with newbie like me to ask things like hourly rate.

IMO, as a gamer, it is quite important to know what I am going into when I tried to invest time on a game. I personally spent quite an amount of time to learn holdem. That's why when I approach backgammon, I would go through similar paths - like learning if it is is profitable, how I could learn to improve myself and etc.

I am guessing this surprise you because we all talk about hourly rate. This is actually quite a standard practice in poker (and I bet you already know). But I tried my best to look this up in some backgammon sites, I just can't find any information. Again, allow me to appologize for my ignorance.

I feel grateful of all you guys to answer questions in these forum and give super Kudo to Bill Robertie. I will probably spend more time on backgammon because of this forum.

btw, just a suggestion: to avoid repeated questions, may be we could put this question in a sticky page on top of this forum.

No probs about the repeat questions, i agree making a sticky might be a good idea. I wouldn't have thought backgammon is any where near as profitable as hold em as a ratio against the number of hours you need to put in, the variance swings are too short imo to allow rubbish players to trick themselves into thinking they are good tho you get the degens im sure as well.
