Have recently started using eXtreme Gammon (XG Roller) and on two occasions have noticed that it has chosen NOT to complete a close out/lock out while I was on the bar:

Cannot possibly fathom why closing out your home board with your opponent on the bar wouldn't be the best move. What am I missing?

In both positions, you're hoping white has to hit you and then get forced to leave a blot on their home board, potentially giving you a free shot at another blot with little to no risk of damaging your prime.

After 18/7, you're simply giving White a chance to hit you, after which he'll have plenty of ways to leave a second blot in his board.

If you close him out with 7/1, your chances of winning a gammon are only about 3%. If you eventually hit a second checker, your gammon chances after closing out two men become 30-35%. Leaving the shot has negligible chances of losing.
