Hi all,

White - Pips 124. Match Score 0/3

Black - Pips 167. Match Score 0/3
White on roll. Cube action?
Created with www.BGdiagram.com

here white doubled and, except for the goden point anchor, I couldn't find ANY reason to take this cube as black. I am 43 pips behind, no board, opponent has some board, threats to my 14 blot.

Can you explain me why is a take? (Passing is a 0.33 blunder)

Thanks.

White still has got men back. Even if those checkers would be all on the 13-point, it would be a take. If white throws a 2, it doesn't bring much harm to black, eg. he might settle on the 2-point.

White still has plenty of work to do bringing everyone home, and black is in no danger. Meanwhile immediate hits leave return shots.

In fact I don't even see any market losers here, so as white I might not double in the first place.

Thanks... but the more I look and the more it seems jeopardy take... Mm white's board isn't threatening for you? Ok, it has holes, but black has only the anchor...

Well of course, you are certainly welcome to pass. Especially if you are playing me

Try playing it out against the computer 20 times. 10 times from each side. You might get a feel for why it's a big take.
