I have a couple of questions about the bar:

1) Am I right to assume that a checker can only go onto the bar it is the lone checker sitting on a point?

2) When bringing a checker back into the game from the bar where & how do you bring it back in?

1. Correct. A single checker on a point is called a "blot". If two or more checkers are on a point, they are safe, and the opponent cannot move to that point.

2. into your opponent's home board. You enter based on the number you roll. For example if you roll a 43, you enter a checker on his 3 point or 4 point if possible. If not, you stay on the bar and cannot move any other checkers.
