Hi,

I am quite new to backgammon so I have some questions

How many points should your bankroll contain? Is 500 points conservative or aggressive?

Where can cashgames in Europe especially Germany be found?

What kind of ROI can be expected from backgammon tourneys if you have a snowie error rate of 5-6 and the field contains everything from advanced to very good players?

Who is currently considered the best backgomman player in the world?

What is the quickest/best way to improve your game (beside playing) in your oppinion?

At what $ amount per point is a game considered high stakes?

Is it worth playing better players to advance your game at reasonable stakes of course?

Help is much appreciated

It depends on your edge. 500 is reasonable if you feel quite confident you are playing a weaker opponent.

Local backgammon clubs are the easiest place to start. Many players will be highly protective of private games so don't expect too much at first.

Depends on the rake, actual player standard and what your playing standard is in real world conditions.

Most would say its probably Mochy or Falafel at the moment, but it's a near impossible question to answer.

Read, practice, classify, analyse, watch.

At whatever amount is outside your comfort zone. Money is always a relative thing.

Yes.

1) Bankroll -- Depends on your strength relative to your opponents. 500 points is conservative in any event.

2) Cash games in Germany -- don't know. (I live in the USA).

3) Your ROI would be solidly negative.

4) Best player -- Mochy, MCG, and Falafel all play at about the same level.

5) Improve your game -- read good books and practice against XG.

6) High stakes -- $100/pt and up.
