"Don't be yoked with unbelievers" because they won't understand "a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Eccl. 4:12.

The world is always teaching people to think the worst of others and to cut the cord.

The full verse:

"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

Instead of insisting on equality try making the world more paradise like through your own attitude.

Try to "Esteem everyone better than yourself."

There is no equality in paradise then. Ok.

Men look at the outside.

God looks at the inside.

I will give you that the idea of equality is an important sign of progress by the human race.

Of course, it falls short of the brotherly love standard but the idea of equality could show that the human race is progressing spiritually.

Without the spiritual idea of compassion I doubt the lesser idea of equality would even have proliferated in the world.

A lot of the more enlightened rights ideas in the world started with Quakers or evangelicals. Orphanages as a charity started with the Catholics and I suppose you could trace a lot of progressive ideas and charities like the ending of infanticide as a worldwide practice back to Judeo-Christian ideas.

Quaker women jumpstarted the women's rights movement while the evangelical John Wesley encouraged the anti-slavery movement.

People are rarely acquainted with the origins or history of ideas though.

A few hundred years ago they thought it a bad idea to educate women. Alot of men thought it would ruin them.

Devilish idea isn't it? Promoting illiteracy.

You can't read the bible which are the thoughts of God's heart to all generations if you're illiterate now can you?

That makes hearing even more important.

The bible says "faith is by hearing".

Maybe God anticipated the devil would try to rule everyone by denying them access to the bible.

Read up on Wycliffe. He fought to put the bible into the mainstream.

If he hadn't maybe we wouldn't even have any rights movements today.

The bible is always concerned with injustices. God wrote the book on it.

Seems to me that brotherly love gives equality automatically.
A brother will not dominate his brother or ask him to submit to him.

Marrieds are yoked.

Isn't that mutual submission?

How do you know people aren't walking from headship to complementarianism?

You have to first trust someone to submit to them.

Doesn't that imply mutuality?

Why can't some people just grant submission out of deference to God til the other person wakes up and mutually submits?

God does qualify this. He says don't be yoked with an unbeliever.

It doesn't mean the world which is heavily carnal and likes to rule and take advantage of the weak understands this very well.

Why does your mind stop mid-story?

Everyone knows Jesus Christ is to be King of Kings.

He had an excruciating experience but demonstrated perfect obedience to God's will and God fully intends to reward him. People experience suffering and difficult experiences too and sometimes even failure yet God promises us eternal life.

How many bosses do you know that would give you a promotion after several personal failures?

Afaik only God has the system set up this way.
