Then sing a happy song every now and then.

You do sing, don't you?

Seems an unlikely effect of reading RGT. Hopefully you did your due diligence beforehand.

I think you're being a little hard on the theists. Yes, we agree that they have the burden of logically proving the truthfulness of their religion since they are the ones making positive claims... and we agree that they have failed that burden so often rely on pointless meaningless rhetorical points. But to call them deceitful midgets is unwarranted.

Wait, are you trying to communicate something logical, or is this just the cute little windup before another cunning stunt of rhetorical point-scoring?

My point is that you are one of the worst offenders, when it comes to your listed complaints.
Claiming someone else is projecting just makes it that much better.
I strongly suspect you knew this was what I meant.

meh, mostly from smp type discussions, although some of the posters here have led to me sources outside this forum that led to the eventual decision...

I strongly suspect you're only fooling yourself.

I'm happy however to continue on this topic, i.e. rhetorical point-scoring (e.g. misdirecting fallacies, disruptive ad hominems, etc, etc) in lieu of logical argument, for the same reason I brought it up in the first place: to call attention to the problem. The more sensitized people are to the issue, the less offending midgets will be able to get away with their behavior, so normal people can have a better experience of RGT.

Okay it is off topic here anyway. I looked at vegetarianism and decided against it for various reasons which you no doubt already considered.

Re: What's the most significant change from this forum?

I'm really surprised so many have come to learn how bad people are at arguing or that they will stubbornly stick to incorrect views.

My experience was the opposite - I generally assume everyone is dumber than me, so SMP/RGT was an eye-opener in that there were plenty of other people as good or better at me at following and constructing arguments.

I hadn't thought of this, but free will is definitely one of the fundamental changes for me too. My belief in dualism also (though it's more persistent).

seems like at some point this thread turned from "what ive learned/changed" to atheists saying how obvious it is that theists are wrong/closed-minded and vice versa...

this thread is done every once in a while and i recall opinions on free will are frequently cited, mostly due to madnaks posting...
