This has been a problem I've been thinking about for quite some time.

"Why did God tell women to be silent in church?"

And the answer is not because women are inferior but because of the way the carnal mind works and the male carnal mind in particular.

Men are made to be particularly visual creatures and if a woman gets up to present the Gospel men lose their mental focus on God and start to dabble in more carnal ideas like "I wish that woman would shut up but she sure has a nice azz", etc., etc.

So yes the Gospel proves ID. It knows exactly how the carnal, unsaved mind, reacts.

Wait, God told women not to talk in church, because then men would want to have sex with them instead of listening to God's word, therefore intelligent design is real?

Women were told to be quite for cultural reasons. Women of that time where not educated at all, which lead them to often times ask questions of their husbands during service which was disruptive.

But Jib God had to lead you to such an enlightened position. First people's minds had to be unblocked.

Carnal thinking does block spiritual thinking because one of the Christian aims is overcoming the works of the flesh especially death.

Think of the context of the times. These are the ancient Greeks they are converting.

What are you suggesting about the ancient Greeks?

Your thread title says sexism proves intelligent design. How? All you really did in your OP is point out that men are attracted to women, so it's better if women don't try to teach scripture to men since men will be distracted, therefore intelligent design is correct. Do you not see the problem here?

The God of the bible is different from the God of the Koran.

The church/worship styles are different.

The burqa is worn so that men do not think lustful thoughts. Seems to me that it would work equally well in Christian churches to keep men from thinking lustful thoughts. Keeping the women quiet is not enough, imo. Why chance it when eternal salvation is at stake?

Or maybe we should segregate the church? Have women attend mass during odd hours, and men attend mass during even hours?

Men aren't capable listening to women speak without wanting to have sex with them, so it's best to keep the sexes separated.

It doesn't have to be a traditional Muslim burqa.

It can be something uniquely Christian. Perhaps Christian women can wear a shapeless tarp with eyeholes cut out? You should design one and present it to your minister to see what he thinks of the idea.

God has his own design for righting the world. That's why I read the bible because over time parts of his design fall into place.

You can't ever understand God by just looking at the surface of things. Usually you have to research and/or ponder for a long, long time.
