Religion made marriage? Religion made marriage?

Did religion create marriage? Probably not but was marriage common before religion (old testament)?

Imagine if you lived in the year 100,000 bc. Imagine what life would be like. Would your life be easier as a swinging bachelor or with a wife?

Conservapedia's article on marriage nailed it in the first sentence.

"Marriage is the divinely ordained union between one man and one woman."

Divinely ordained. Secular it is not. Oh, you want further proof?

"The first marriage occurred nearly 6,000 years ago in the Garden of Eden, in the area of the world that we now know as the Middle East. The first couple was Adam and Eve."

Master of ceremonies? That'd be God.

Religion didn't get rid of swinging until late in the game (at least for men).

It depends how you define marriage. If it can mean one guy kicked the crap out of the other guys and took all the women as his wife's, then no probably not.

Conservapedia isn't really the kind of source you can use to prove a point, especially to atheists (or anyone with an ounce of logic and/or the ability to reason).

I don't think that marrieage is created by religion. It's natural.

There are some kind of animals that can stay together as a couple through their life (such as penguin, or wild duck).

Or you can see a strong and powerfull male lion will keep all the female lions in a flock as his own.

And so do the human being.

Yes, when I cite conservapedia as an authority (or answersingenesis), I'm posting from under a bridge.
