deathbed prayers are like waiting that extra 5 seconds to shove with AA preflop when you know villian is pot committed anyway. It may or may not make a difference but it definitely is worth doing to cover your butt.

What if God rewards those who lead moral lives, regardless of belief, but punishes those who pretend to believe, regardless of morality?

Which god should we pray to? There are so many, and so many different hells. Guess we should all come to deeply understand every religion and focus on learning everything about each one in order to avoid a chance at hell.

Dumb concept unless you think the only possible religion that could be true is Christianity, in which case it would make sense.

I will not be praying for the same reasons i don't pray now........ i'd imagine God would be slightly weary of my belief when the first prayer of my life comes on the doorstep of death

If you don't believe you don't believe. Doesn't change before you die.

I was in a car accident and as I was passing out I thought I was dying. Did not think of god for 1 nanosecond. Never have and never will. There are plenty of atheists in foxholes BTW.
