Gary Habermas has a 9 part series on youtube where he explains his skeptic's approach to the Resurrection.

not besides, but including--a kind of "best of" list. Podcasts, downloadable lectures, or anything I can put on an Ipod.

Thanks for the recs so far.

The History of Philosophy Without any Gaps is a good podcast for the history of philosophy. He starts at the beginning is just finishing up Hellenic philosophy, so it is all ancient philosophy so far. Conversations from the Pale Blue Dot is the best podcast I know of that focuses on philosophy/religion/morality issues, although it is sadly no longer being updated. There are a bunch of good religion/philosophy courses and random lectures on ITunes U that I've listened to.

wow, thanks. that's exactly the kind of thing i'm looking for. looks super detailed. It'll be years before they hit modern philosophy!

Thought I'd bump this thread, but to expand the focus a bit to include some more lowbrow shows. My list includes:

-The Atheist Experience (website, blog, live TV show in Austin, also streamed live on Ustream and shows widely available YouTube)
Also from the Atheist Community of Austin:
-Godless Bitches (podcast)
-The Non Prophets (podcast).
Both are good, GB in particular, but sadly they are not very frequent.

-Dogma Debate (website, live radio and podcast)

-The Thinking Atheist (website, live radio and podcast)

-The Friendly Atheist (blog)

-The Magic Sandwich Show (Live on Ustream, YouTube) with YouTuber's DPRJones, C0nc0rdance, Aaron Ra, Thunderf00t

-Only recently discovered Cognitive Dissonance (podcast) listed above, these guys are pretty funny

What does RGT listen to?

eta: More theocratic/political, and for satisfying my masochistical needs: Right Wing Watch Blog (YouTube) - Warning: rage inducing

Fantastic podcast and his blog (sadly also now archived) is great too.

I also recommend the Rationally Speaking podcast hosted by Massimo Pigliucci. The focus is partly on atheism vs theism, but a LOT of the content is about examining problems and disagreements within naturalism which is much more interesting imo (as might be clear from my recent threads).

My favourite episodes are:
With Michael Shermer on the Science in Morality
With James Ladyman on Metaphysics - very much worth a listen even if (especially if?) you have a negative view of metaphysics.
The Science and Philosophy of Free Will
With Joshua Knobe on Experimental Philosophy

Big +1 to this.

I would also recommend Dale Martin's Introduction to the New Testament from Yale on iTunes U. Something for Christians. Something for atheists. At least everyone will know wtf they are talking about and have some idea of the context of the documents contained in the collection that Christians view as sacred.

I'm excited to check out the intro the NT podcast. Philosophy Bites is another good podcast that I've been listening to lately: http://www.philosophybites.com/. Very concise and clear discussions.
