I disagree, moral values are improving, per the examples I provided.

Yes, education may have done more for tolerance than atheism...I suspect education leads to atheism and also tolerance rather than atheism being the starting point.

Are shootings like university shootings and the recent movie theater shooting increasing? I'm asking. Not drawing a definite conclusion at this time.
Divorce is not immoral, so I'm not sure why you bring up this irrelevent matter? Oh wait, probably to hilight the fact that in today's society it's permissable...yes that is more moral than the old timey net-curtain twitching disapproval.

Teen pregnancy is not immoral, unwise perhaps but not immoral. Of course, teen pregnancy also correlates to religiosity so...take a tip from atheists and educate your children.

School shootings? Yes, this is bad. But murder rates have been dropping for centuries, society is safer than it ever has been and no matter how awful it is to get shot in a movie theatre for you personally, it's better than having a society where entire villages get massacred and razed to the ground by bandits. So yes, improved morals again.

It's not natural to fail at attachment though.

A lot of human psychology is based on attachment theory.

But leave it to the hardline more politico atheists to portray a failure of a group of people to attach as if it is the only condition natural to all human beings. They're just as dogmatic as theists.

Human beings are mammals. We're always reared through attachments.

Don't believe me? Read Anatomy of the Soul by Curt Thompson, M.D. or Justin Barrett's Born Believers.

(Lol...dogma is an interesting word...."dog" - "ma"....Dogs are the most loyal creatures on the planet but are they being loyal to the right master?

A "dog" will be loyal to anybody sometimes misguidedly.)

I think you're simply using the wrong words. I think morality is innate. I don't think "moral values are improving" I think societal norms are improving.

This is when you provide data to support the opposite conclusion.

Divorce is not a negative for society?

I wonder how many kids felt their security and world breaking up when their families went through divorces and what that event had on shaping their lives and personalities and attitudes toward success and failure. People copy role models, y'know, whether those role models are successes or failures.

God must care for families and what they're established on a lot more than you do.

Btw, the human race didn't improve without religion. The current world you grew up in grew up with religion.

So stop trying to steal God's glory by taking credit for society's growing up. You had very little to do with that growth personally while God had a lot to do with it.

Don't know what the next word will be but I'm pretty sure if we took a guess at how many times 'attachment' has been posted in the last 7 days, I'm pretty sure we'd find it to be more than 50 times.

What only 50 times?

I must have heard the word "delusion" out of atheists mouths 10 or 20 thousand times on this board.

I wonder what makes atheists so blithely buy and bandy that word about when they haven't even investigated if they might have attachment issues.

Atheists are the minority y'know.

Couldn't the majority being doing something right?

People are a bit like herd animals y'know.

We couldn't even have survived this world without a social herding instinct.

But the roughneck atheists think its all about rugged individualism.

Societies aren't built on individualism alone. They are co-operative efforts.
