I just don't understand how pointing out someone's bias and dishonest is considered to be such a big deal...

There is really no way to recapture the moment, either. We could move the argument into here. Or start a new thread. But it's just not the same.

Re: Official RGT random **** thread

I know a lot of you probably saw this in OOT, but for those who didn't I figured I'd put the link here.

This guys has thousands of short instructional videos dealing with pretty much every topic you could think of. There's some solid biology videos (pretty basic) dealing with evolution for those of you who are interested.

http://www.khanacademy.org/#browse

Truly amazing that he's taken the time to do all of these. I started brushing up on my math again and I wish this guy was around when I was in high school because he really breaks things down in a simple way (at least for me).

Oh wow...this is a find. I've been considering going back to college to get my Masters in EE(yeah, I'm bored), but my advanced math skills have atrophied to the point where I would need several refresher courses. The entire sections dedicated to Calculus and Linear Algebra could save me a class or two.

Nice find.

Decided to watch 3 episodes of Intervention without knowing what to expect. Selected by an addiction I felt like seeing: crack, crack and beer, heroin and cocain. In two out of three a very religiious family or what part of it was filmed for the show.

I thought religion was supposed to prevent such stuff?

Sure. But I don't think two out of three videos tells us much one way or the other.

Yeah, it was just a random observation that I thought I could mention here. It surprised me. In both episodes religion played a key role though, that I find sad. In one the mother got separated from the father b/c the father didn't share her beliefs. Guy starts selling at 15 or 16, don't recall exactly. In the other the family are the typical Bible thumpers, only they adopted an Indian child. Dad thinks that there is nothing more important that Jesus and constantly judges his adopted son to the point where the son doesn't want to talk to him.

Noah's Ark
1) Why was the Ark necessary? Why not just flood the world and re-create animal life afterwards? He didn't even save every animal on earth, just 2 or 7 lucky ones of each species. Seems like a lot of hassle to go through the construction of the ship just to save a few animals that you could re-create anyway.

2) Why was a flood necessary? Couldn't God kill everyone without a flood?

The end result could have been acheived in just a few minutes by a God who can create life.

Re: Official RGT random **** thread

madnak with the rage lock of lawdude's thread. not a babysitter, huh? then why are you treating us like children when all we were doing is having a civil discussion about issues amongst ourselves?

I love me some madnak, but I'm pretty shocked with the way he handled that.
