Re: Official RGT random **** thread

As I said I read many things at once but now I'm intrigued so I'm going to read this one more quickly. I don't know if I'll find enough to make a thread about but I'll bring it up somewhere.

Wait, I thought you were already working?

Also, I see that the GRE is scored like the SAT (out of 800), so you did well, right?

I won't start working until January. It is an adjunct position (Part time per semester basis) and I want to get my Ph.D. You need a masters to become a full time professor and do research, which is what I want to do.

The averages are
Verbal Section: 460
Quantitative Section: 590

I find it interesting when people state matter-of-factly about a thing such as the existence of god. There is no proof either way, so there can be no statement of truth either way. AMIRITE?

You are right on the second part imo.

But if God communicated with you or revealed himself in some way to you, like some say he has with them, wouldn't you state it in a matter of fact way?

I most likely would yes. Although I wouldn't expect my personal experience to be used as the evidence of existence of god for anyone other than myself.

Re: Official RGT random **** thread

I got this email from okcupid

Quote:
Greetings, fellow atheist. This is Chris from OkCupid. I know from hard experience that non-believers have few holiday entertainment options:

Telling kids that Santa Claus is just the tip of the iceberg, in terms of things that don't actually exist
Asking Christians to explain why they don't also believe in Zeus
Messaging cute girls
Towards making that last one more likely for you, we've devised a special wintery match algorithm, and we'll be sending you a seasonal special someone each day for 12 days.

XXXXXXX is today's match. She's an atheist, too. You guys will have so much in common not to talk about.
