There should be a rule that “really stupid threads” should be allowed to be locked for no other reason than this. This would be even better.

Splendour if you want this forum to be less combative that means some of your and other peoples combative posts are going to be more strictly modded.

I don't know why so many people think Pletho's a troll. I'd be very surprised if he isn't for real, he just happens to have a very particular interpretation of Christianity that isn't mainstream. Which includes the doctrine that Jesus is not God, if that's what you meant by "doesn't even believe in Jesus". But more likely you're saying he's a nonbeliever and is making fun of religion, and I really don't think that's the case.

I tend to agree. Way to many posts over way to many years for that.

There was a thread or two that 'proved' Pletho was fake. It was about his name (as discovered by the website he ran/promoted) being the same as a vocal internet anti-theist. And some obviously faked email. I'm not posting a side on this, but informing that it's not really about his views. (EDIT: and some billiards website, too, that further linked the 2, iirc.)

As for Splendour, did you think those threads you started had any value? It's wrong to insult others just because they haven't been around RGT as long as you have. We should be encouraging new posters, not telling them to go away.

I didn't insult anyone. I simply pointed out a lot of people don't have the long term history to assert things like they are facts about other posters. Some of the genuine long timers that are regular posters and really do know the old history (though some of them exaggerate it out of proportion to reality) are: NotReady, StuPidasso, madnak, tame deuces, Lestat, kurto, dknightx, Hopey, carlo, Subfalllen, RLK, bunny, bigpooch and me and maybe a few others...Most of the other posters just don't have the old timer knowledge for some of their assertions and they look really strange when they assert things that just aren't accurate. Even Jib is a relative noob imo...Everyone listed above has close to a couple of years posting on him...

It is not necessary for someone to have been here for a specified period of time to know the history. The posts are available in perpetuity (almost).

I do not believe that "Mr. Fundie" is a level, and I do not believe that he is the same person as the celebrated you-know-who.

The people in here that are joining in old feuds without knowing the history behind them just look unnecessarily vindictive. Who joins someone else's feud voluntarily? It's irrational but it says alot about the group prejudices people hold in general.

They aren't checking the history so don't be sly and pretend they are.

As a lurker myself, I do like how Splendour has said numerous times, that she doesn't want do debate something but just put her stuff out there for the lurkers. Yet when a lurker actually chimes in she will without fail attack them as in this thread.

Won't work. Will get you stong/muscly but not healthy or fit. Cardio, better food, less fat booze drugs; then top it all off with a belief you are losing weight as you do it. then pray for some reason, and God will swap your fat with starving people in other places in the world ldo.

Nah man. Calories in vs calories out determines basic energy expenditure. Lifting stimulates muscles, which increases metabolism in general and causes the body to favor fat metabolism over muscle metabolism.

I don't know about "healthy" or "fit," as those have different meanings for different people, but in terms of losing fat or weight in general, and being lean, that's the most efficient way.

(This is assuming compliance, of course.)
