2. When everyone believed that the sun spun around the earth, did the sun spin around the earth?
3. When everyone believed that the earth was in the center of the universe, was it in the center of the universe?

This isn't surprising, since Morrison was an avid reader who was interested in all kinds of occults, philosophies, etc. That doesn't mean he praised Crowley however, and I find nothing that states he did. You specifically listed The Doors as having praised Crowley. Can I assume you were just being careless and using any form of association to make your point?

All it takes to be an atheist is to lack belief in a god. That is quite separate from activism. Anyone can be an activist on a variety of subjects. I agree that Dawkins is an activist in trying to squelch religion and denouncing it. But this has nothing to do with his atheism. If you think it does, I'm sorry to say that you don't understand what atheism is. If instead, his passion was being outspoken about the plight of polar bears, would you still say he shouldn't be considered an atheist?
